....and not a receiver from BG on either team!!

Omar must be better than even we thought, if he is 1st team without any receivers.

Yeah, let's penalize Magner, Sharon and Sanders for being such a good unit. If Omar had only one great WR to throw to, that guy would have the gaudy stats that draw the attention of the voters.

I'm sure the thin skinned ones up north are gritting their teeth over the All-MAC results. Their rear-ends don't feel kissed enough.

EMU's Eric Deslauriers should be first team over Greg Jennings or Dante Ridgeway. He was almost (maybe even was) leading the NCAA in receiving yards at one point. To see no BG receivers urks me too!

I don't think there's any way to keep Ridgeway off, he caught EVERYTHING on a really bad team.

I think I realized early this year that BG WR's aren't going to get any solid recognition on their own, but I'd never give up the stable we have for anything.

MAC West Division co-champion Northern Illinois led all schools with 12 selections to the 60-member squad. Bowling Green had 10 honorees and East Division champ Miami had eight while Toledo had five players named to the team.
Both the Huskies and ourselves lose half of our all-MAC selections to graduation...both teams have some big shoes to fill.

To have Brucie left off the list is quite a pleasant surprise -- especially with Cribbs getting the honorable mention even with what's happened in the last year.

Congrats to Shawn Suisham -- he truly deserves this honor.

Wow....TEN total players though. That is cool. No WR's is a bit of a bite but I really believe our guys think, act and live as a unit. Seeing the unselfish play of EVERY one of them tells me they have the "team" concept down pat. Plenty of passes for everyone! These guys are too cool to let this get to them, nor do I think they care. This group is the BEST unit in the MAC.

I'm pumped for Rob Warren and Kory Lichtensteiger as well. Rob is a true warrior....and Kory had had one heck of a first year...He'll be back THREE more years. Josh loves #78...Kory has more than passed his test, just like Omar. Omar....what else can ya say....TWO MORE YEARS!!!!

Jovon Burkes and Keon Newson were givens...Seeing Pope on there tells me he is still the Best all round back in the MAC. He doesn't get the # of carries as Seymour and Wolfe but he's deadly receiving as well. Need that bowl game so PJ can get 53 more yards and 1000!

Scott Mruczkowski...what a truly great leader. He is in the same vein as Big Jon Mazur...both outstanding Centers. Shaun Suisham bounced back and had a solid year. Congrats on the all time PAT record, Shaun.

Mitch Crossley started slow and then came on in a big way. Daniel Sayles? This guy is total lunchpail. Just come to play and make the plays.
I'm happy he got some love his SR year.

Ten is a pretty impressive #...

Congrats to all and win the bowl game!! *positive thinking!!*

GO FALCONS!!

Remember, today is the last day to make reservations for the football banquet. Great way to show support for another winning season. C ya there.

PJ is pushing 1,000 yards rushing this year? I guess the WMU game boosted that, but its still quite a surprise to me. It seemed like he was having a quiet year running the ball, especially with Lane seeming to get a few more touches, but you're right, Freak... get him in a bowl game to top 1,000!!!

Great to see some recognition for our guys!

Now it wouldn't be me if I didn't rain on the parade a little though...how do we have 10 All-MAC picks and finish 3rd in our DIVISION!? Man, those 2 losses still burn me.

The fact that Mruczkowski fell to second team surprised me most.

Hammb, that's the tragedy of it all. We sold our talent and skill short.

Mruz surprised me, too. He was rock solid.

Let's not sell Omar short on being first team over Charlie Frye and Brucie. Its impressive, if for no other reason than voters are inclined to reward a senior over a sophomore. I'm not saying Omar didn't deserve it...I'm saying he had to deserve it a lot to actually win it.

Good point. Omar is a horse. I'm glad the rest of the league saw that.

Where's Chuck?

Charles Sharon deserved to be an all-MAC receiver, either first or second team. Sharon was 5th in the conference with 953 yards receiving (ahead of Sheldon - 919 and Davis - 847) and tied for first in touchdowns (13) with Deslauriers (ahead of Moore - 11, Jennings - 11, Sheldon - 9, Ridgeway - 8, and Davis - 6).

The only reason these stats weren't even more inflated is that Bowling Green spread the ball around this year, with Sharon, Magner, Pope, and Sanders all getting over 48 receptions apiece. Several that received all-MAC receiving accolades deserved to do so over Sharon, but in my opinion, Sheldon and Davis did NOT.

Not even honorable mention...? What a shame.

I bet Sharon and Sanders will be 1st and 2nd team respectively next season. As for Pope he had a way better year this year. Last year he had 1005 yards in 14 games, he almost has that in 11 games this year and had about 50 receptions. Also averaged 6.1 a carry. great seaon for PJ as he got in the endzone a lot.
