Indeed. I was very impressed with them as well.

Looked like they were all brass. They did a great job of drowning out the PA announcer, which is a good thing.

I wasn't able to make it to the game tonight, but I have been told by a reliable source that we have a new PA announcer. I'll let him unveil himself if he wants to, but I don't think any of us will be disappointed.

It helped though that they had an electric bass up there as well. Keep in mind that I'm not saying that they weren't good at all...but amplified sound helped that out a lot.

That and they were facing most of us! They played a song I played in high school called "The Horse." Had a nasty trumpet part for high school...definitely a favorite though! Props to them!

+1...I can only imagine what their entire 300-some odd sized band sounds like if that was only roughly a 1/3 of it.

They were loud - great spirit - and downright very nice people as well as a number of Troy folks I met tonight at the game

The new PA announcer is Jason Griffin, he does games on BCSN for the Mud Hens, he's very good. He definitely kept the crowd excited tonight, and anyone is better than the last guy we had.

While certainly an improvement over the last dude, there were several things that bothered me. Maybe it was the PA setup, but it was not very loud and seemed really muffled with very little high end. Jason also seemed waaaaay to laid back for the most part and could use a little more inflection from time to time. Just my humble opinion.

PA announcer to me sounded very like Dave Rice who works in the BGSU Admissions Office. I'm betting $25 he called the game last night.

Major props to the Troy pep band...they really added to the atmosphere last night!!
I thought the PA guy sounded a little like Quagmire from Family Guy....I kept expecting him to say "Giggity" after the word ball

Back on subject, really nice turnout from the TSU Band. They were great and seemed to be just as classy as the rest of the Troy fans. I hope they all had a great time despite the outcome of the game. Good luck on the rest of your season!
