If We Could Choose Our Bowl

GMAC against Memphis would be attractive to me because we would be representing one of the MAC bowl committments, meaning we are one of the three best in the conference in their eyes.
I don't want to be picky, but I don't like these:
- Hawaii Bowl seems too far and not against a quality opponent.
- SVB Bowl seems been their/done that against Fresno.
- Las Vegas see above...we'll prove little beating New Mexico
- Emerald versus Navy...we'll prove little beating Midshipmen
- Houston versus UTEP...Battle of mid-majors does little for me
But, I also like:
- Champ Sports versus Colorado
- Fort Worth versus Cincinnati
- MPC Computers vesus Virginia
- Independence versus OK State or Syracuse
- Music City versus Minnesota (I don't like how we match-up though)
I'll be happy with any bowl bid given our season ending, but its fun to speculate and talk about possible match-ups!

Not to be picky, but since we're having fun anyway
You said a battle of mid-majors (Houston) does little for you, but you say the GMAC is your first choice (yes, I can understand the "official" MAC bowl thing) and Forth Worth vs. Cincy as another. I have to say that the idea of travelling all the way to Texas to play Cincy seems a bit odd to me.
Me, I'll take any bowl, anywhere ...

How about a USC-BG match up in the Orange Bowl. That'd be cool.

Out of the available options for BG from the Blade article, I would prefer the Independence Bowl. I like the idea of playing another Big 12 opponent and I prefer a game after Xmas.
Bowling Green: The Falcons have been linked with the GMAC Bowl but also may play in the Independence or Fort Worth bowls. Outside possibilities include the Las Vegas, Hawaii or MPC Computers bowls.

Vegas bowl....you can fly dirt cheap from Toledo and there's a lot to do. Apparently, Las Vegas has the reputation for being a "party town"

Your're right. Houston (UTEP), GMAC (Memphis) and Fort Worth (Cincinnati) are all against the so-called mid-majors. To me there is a world of difference between Memphis or Cincinnati versus UTEP.
The Miners have had a terrific turnaround year under Mike Price, but they carry little credibility in college football circles. Beating them would do the minimum for our program in terms of a bowl victory.
True, Memphis and Cincinnati aren't exactly "historic" programs either, but they are Conference USA schools. They are also both in our recruiting base. Two of our fellow MAC schools just left for the Conference USA. We have a lot to gain by proving ourselves against them.

Champs Bowl vs Colorado is unlikely. Georgia Tech is licking it's chops for an invite. This bowl has basically already said they want someone bigger than GA Tech. UVA turned them down because of Final Exams Conflict, however UVA does not want to go to Boise, which would be an option. So UVA is waiting and crossing it's fingers that VaTech loses to Miami this weekend which would allow UVA to go to the Peach, and would send VaTech to the Champs, which would send Ga Tech to Boise again(they really want a warm weather bowl). Champs bowl is debating on taking Ga Tech before this weekend because it does risk losing Ga Tech if Va Tech beats Miami and UVA declines Champs and goes to Boise.
Got all that?

Being a student, any bowl game where I can drive and not have to spend money on a plane ticket. Probably anything out west would force me to have to buy a plane ticket, the Silicon Valley and Boise Bowls of the ones mentioned as possibilities.
I think the Motor City Bowl and Silicon Valley are gonna go to Miami and Toledo so I think of the bowls left that have been mentioned, I would like to see us get the Independence Bowl. Playing mid-majors is fine, but getting a shot at the big boys is always fun. Plus I would be able to drive there
I honestly think we will end up in the GMAC Bowl.
