Long time reader, first time poster.
I just spoke with the manager at Reverands and he said Direct TV wants too much money for him to show the game. Anyone know for sure if the game will be shown at any other bar?

How pathetic is it when bars in a college town won't show their home team's games...

While I am in total agreement that it sucks, it doesn't make a ton of business sense to do so. They're going to be PACKED already without purchasing that game. Between the Black Swamp and the OSU game going on at roughly the same time I'm not sure it makes sound business sense. Reverend's isn't that big of a place, and they likely wouldn't add much extra business by having the BG game, IMO.
It does suck though for the fans WOULD rather watch BG than OSU.

That is very
I talked to the owner of a great bar here in Fort Wayne that almost always comes through and he told me that it's no dice this week. For his place he thought it would cost him about $1000 to pick that up. A little too much to pay for me to sit and drink a few beers and eat a basket of wings (by myself).
I guess it'll be me and my laptop on the back porch with a 6-pack and a bag of chips this weekend.

Ouch! That's expensive!
I guess I will be heading to a friends house who has dish network. Game is available on ppv for $29.95.

I can see a small place like Reverends (never been there, but can picture the space) not wanting to drop that kind of cash for one game, but it continues to make me sick that the "big boys" downtown don't spring for it and show a BG game.

Someone in a previous thread mentioned that Downtown may carry the game. Can anyobody confirm this? I called, but the person who answered had no idea.
I would have no problem paying a cover if someone were to carry it.

I'm hoping channelsurfing.net will have the game.

Good news, good news!
Downtown is paying to get the BG game. I just talked to someone there that confirmed it. Only problem is that they will be switching the audio to the Suckeyes game when it comes on.

Do you have to be 21 to get into downtown?

Technically yes, but I think I started going there when I was 18.

I was about to take back what I said earlier. Then I read the last sentence.

Checked their schedule and didn't see it. Don't know if they update during the day tomorrow or not.

Yeah they check ID's pretty hard. You may be able to with people coming and going from the Art festival. You can also try starting at Uptown and working your way down.
1,000 bucks seems like a high price for the game. Especially considering all the business they will be doing with the Black Swamp and USC game.
