After week 1, Phil Steele has BG going 6-2 MAC with losses to CMU and Buffalo and rematching CMU in MAC tournament. Pretty cool! It's a computer simulation, not his personal picks.

Also of note: Toledo 6-2, losing to CMU and us. Mizzou 5-3, second B12 north. Michigan beating OSU. Troy 7-1 with loss to Ark. St.

Always hard telling after week 1, but I like seeing us on top of the MAC anytime of the year.

I agree with BG being on top of MAC East, but right now I don't think Toledo will finish that well in the MAC. As soon as they meet a team who has a really good defense Toledo's offense will stop, and since in their first two games they have had 90points scored on them that doesn't say much for that side of the ball.

As of now I'd put CMU a favorite to win the MAC. They looked good against Michigan State, and any team that can recover two on-side kicks has got a lot of talent on special teams.

The one certainty that I have right now is that the BG-Toledo game is going to see a lot of points. First team to 80 wins!
