I went 6-6 last week ... big step back from week 1. Here we go:

Temple at No. 5 Penn State
Penn State big. No question.

No. 11 Ohio State at Toledo
Can both teams lose? Anyway, OSU generally comes out flat after a big disappointment. Toledo is on fire and has a "home" game, AKA Horseshoe North. Toledo's got an electrifying offense that nobody has shut down yet and their defense isn't good, but they have forced a lot of turnovers against turnover prone offenses (Purdue, Colorado). I'm going to go out on a BIG limb and call for the upset. Toledo by a possession.

Eastern Michigan at No. 25 Michigan
Michigan big. UM is just on fire right now and has the most exciting QB in the nation IMO and JUST A FRESHMAN, but EMU has proven after last week they can surprise. I bet they'll stick around for a while but UM is going to win big in the end.

Ball State at Army
OK, Ball State is going to disappoint this year apparently. Army by two possessions.

Northern Illinois at Purdue
Purdue hasn't impressed me yet. Defense doesn't generate enough stops, offense is turnover-prone but potentially explosive, and they just don't play with the fire I'd want to see them have. I'm calling for another MAC upset over Big 10 school. NIU by a possession.

Indiana at Akron
Sure, I'll call for yet another upset. We really don't know anything about Akron yet - blowout loss to PSU, blowout win over bad D1AA team. Akron is fired up, first big home game in the new stadium, and Indiana is lucky to be 2-0 instead of 0-2. Akron by two possessions.

Alcorn State at Central Michigan
CMU looked very good last week in the upset. I wasn't surprised about the offense being so good but the defense is much better than I expected. CMU big.

Cal Poly at Ohio
Cal Poly is a good D1AA team and should have beaten Wisconsin last year. I don't think OU is very good, but they will get it done. OU by two possessions.

Bowling Green at Marshall
Marshall just isn't too good and so far BG has a legitimate shot at being the overall best team in the MAC. BG by multiple possessions.

Iowa State at Kent State
Iowa State is not good at all, but they are better than a bad Kent State team without their best player. I-State by three or more possessions.

Miami at Western Michigan
Miami could go 0-12 this year. Total score between their two games: 90-0. WMU hasn't been as good as I thought but they had an upset in their hands last week. WMU big.

Buffalo at Central Florida
UCF is going to play them close all year, win or lose. I think they lose a close one. Buffalo by a possession.

Yup. I'm calling for the MAC to go 3-2 against the Big 10 this week. Please don't disappoint me!

I'm rooting for about 27 overtimes. By that time each team will be so tired it will take the rest of the season for them to recover, thus rendering each unable to win the rest of the year.

Penn State - by four possessions at least
Ball State - finally gets something going
Ohio State  - after a disappointing loss, Tressel will have his team's attention this week, although Toledo will give them everything they can handle and represent the MAC well (14 points or less)
Michigan - Eastern will be in it for a while, but Michigan will win by 21 or more
Central Michigan - at home, should be no problem
Akron - in their new stadium, the pull they upset over the Little 11
Iowa State - I wish I could say differently, but the Flashes won't get it done
Cal Poly - no comment
Miami - A hard pick for a team that hasn't even scored yet, but in their MAC opener, they wake up and barely get by WMU
Bowling Green - Huge win over Marshall; 40+ for our Falcons in a blowout win - then we sell out and orange out The Doyt for Boise next week
Buffalo - On the road, the Bulls surprise Central Florida

Well, here's my picks. I was 9-3 last week, misfiring on Western Michigan, Ball State (shameful), and Michigan State (WOOT! for the Chips).

Temple at No. 5 Penn State - Penn State - Blowout in Happy Valley. PSU's for real. Next.
No. 11 Ohio State at Toledo - Ohio State - I have an inkling that Toledo could make this game interesting, but their lack of any defense whatsoever means I have to take OSU.
Eastern Michigan at No. 25 Michigan - Michigan - EMU gave Northwestern a scare last week, but they won't hold up as well in the Big House.
Ball State at Army - Army - I can't believe I'm picking Army here, but I guess it's true, Ball State IS that bad.
Northern Illinois at Purdue - Purdue - NIU has a decent shot at pulling the upset here, but I'm sticking with the Boilermakers to win a close one at home.
Indiana at Akron - Akron - The Zips get it done and knock off a B10 opponent in the first REAL game at Infocision Stadium.
Alcorn State at Central Michigan - Central Michigan - Chips roll in their home opener. Next.
Cal Poly at Ohio - Ohio - Ohio wins big. Next.
Bowling Green at Marshall - Bowling Green - This is the type of game BG has struggled with in the past, but they should win this one handily.
Iowa State at Kent State - Kent State - Two teams that really f'n suck. I'm going with the Golden Flashes at home though as their running game will carry the day in a close, low-scoring game.
Miami at Western Michigan - Western Michigan - Will Miami score this week? Maybe. But it won't be enough to knock off the Broncos in Kalamazoo.
Buffalo at Central Florida - Buffalo - This is a toss-up game, but I like Da Bulls to head on the road and bring home a nice W against UCF.

EDIT: And since there's nowhere to put it, I might as well post my BG score prediction for the week:

Bowling Green 35
Marshall 20

BG is, to quote Mike Golic & Mike Greenberg, a stone cold lead pipe lock to cover the BG (-3) line. I'm actually for once in my life thinking of throwing down on this one.

Haven't played before, but would love to start!!!

Temple at No. 5 Penn State Penn State BiG in this one!
No. 11 Ohio State at Toledo Ohio State wants to knock Toledo out early in this one, but Toledo is playing with a lot of confidence this week. Ohio State by 10!
Eastern Michigan at No. 25 Michigan On one hand EMU gets shut out by Army. On the other hand Northwestern has to pull the game out of their behind to win it after being up comfortably early on. Michigan and RichRod will win handily.
Ball State at Army Ball State may not win a game this year..... Unless they play Miami..... and that game may be 3-2 in double OT!
Northern Illinois at Purdue I like NIU's chance here! "Upset" special, only because it's at Purdon't!
Indiana at Akron I liked Akron's chances, until their starting QB got suspended. Indiana is bad, but not quite bad enough to lose to Akron's 2nd string AB.
Alcorn State at Central Michigan Central by 30 here!
Cal Poly at Ohio Ohio in a low scoring game.
Bowling Green at Marshall BG will score around 30. How does the D respond without PJ Mahone? I think they step up BiG! BG 31 Marshall 10.
Iowa State at Kent State Iowa State by 40. No Julian Edleman might mean no touchdowns for Cant State.
Miami at Western Michigan If Western doesn't break 40 here, I'll be surprised. Miami has been just short of god awful this season so far. When do they play BallS State?
Buffalo at Central Florida Buffalo wins a tight game here.

Is this week the week that the MAC schools beat up on former members?
