I respectfully disagree with the statement that a loss Saturday to Bowling Green would be more embarrassing than losing to an FCS (I-AA) opponent. While I understand the "been there, dominated them" conference reasoning, I believe quality athletes and coaching can be found in every conference in 2009. Bowling Green is a damn good football team...and, yes, I have seen them play a bit this season (Missouri). The matter of fact, if you were to bring those Bowling Green kids into Huntington in Florida State uniforms you would likely get a much tougher game than if you brought the actual '09 Seminoles into the stadium. Don't let the conference or school name fool you. My ultimate point is that to people with college football knowledge, and I'd like to hope I have a little, Bowling Green is a very respectable opponent. Though I know Marshall desperately needs this win, a loss would be nothing in perception like a loss to even a very sound Southern Illinois team would have been.
Best wishes Saturday evening."
