A lot of parents of the players were there. Marshall gave them tickets in the end zone.

On the sideline, near the goal line...the place where most colleges who actually draw fans to their games position their visitors. They were not IN THE ENDZONE...as in ENDZONE seats.

I was there and can honestly say I will NEVER go back. I hadn't been there for a loooooong time, and Huntington is not a place I would ever go back. For those that thought the game was depressing, the city is REALLY depressing. They have "projects" right on the edge of campus and the whole town stinks.......I don't mean "stink", but it smells like a sewer. If you ever thought Poe Ditch was bad on it's worst day, multiply it by 10 and you would have Huntington. For those of you that have never been there........don't go, and please Mr Christopher, don't schedule another game there! We did find a nice Marshall fan at Max and Ermas that was very friendly and gave us some good advice but he said he spends a lot of time in Traverse City, Michigan and I understand why!

I almost forgot another good story.......we pulled up to our hotel (Ramada Limited) after the game, got out to walk in, and waiting under the canopy was a Cadilac with bullet holes in it!!!!! I am not talking about those decals, but real bullet holes in the passenger side windows! The guy was trying to check in with a fistful of cash and we almost checked out right then and there, but instead , hurried off to our rooms and put every security lock on the door possible!! The team stayed in Charleston, and I now know why!!!!!

glad you made it out alive and safe. My fiance and I made the trip to Huntington back in '01 as part of the marching band, and neither one of us has any desire to go back. Marshall is one of two places I absolutely refuse to go to watch a game again, EVER!

Love your student sections "cheers" towards our bench when one of your players had to be carted off the field. Stay classy Marshall... stay classy. Other than that, most of the fans were nice.

Loved the chant. It was not done in disrespect towards our player at all.

I was going to be there but when I stopped in Huntington to ask directions to the stadium the people already had their dentures soaking for the night and I couldn't understand a word they said.

I made the trip, and actually had a pretty good experience... Most of the fans were pretty nice, welcomed us and wished us luck. Overall, not the worst bunch of fans I've ever seen. The student section chant was classless, though. Made themselves out to be a bunch of homophobic rednecks. And with a player down, too....
