After seeing the aerial shot of Bronco Stadium on another thread I thought I would go to their website and get some facts on it for comparison to Doyt Perry.

After you read the stadium facts and scroll down and look at the picture timeline and see how their stadium progressed, you can't be anything but impressed with how BSU has progressed their football program to where it is today. Sure looks like a class act operation with a plan.

We love our stadium, (and the blue turf that comes with it!) but we are more than a little disappointed at our mini-tron of a video display. Very outdated. We are anxiously awaiting the day when a real jumbo-tron will grace our stadium.

yes, very true factman but we do have one lol. I remember being one of the only teams in the MAC with out one for along time. And finally we are getting a new basketball arena. Although I love anderson arena I believe it is time to finally catch up and have a better venue for our falcons to play in.

BTW, I looked at that link and I gotta say that Bronco Stadium is a wonderful facility. It looks so huge, if I had to guess, id say it could hold at least 45,000 just looking at the size but 32,000 is still a good number. One thing I wish BGSU would do is get rid of the "falcon zone" in the south end zone and maybe put a wrap around section there or at least put some bleachers up. I remember when NIU came into town while we still had both endzone bleachers and man was that a huge crowd. Would love to see more seating there.

Bronco Stadium is designed so 32,000 fans sound like 70,000. All the sound is focused down on the field. I've heard it as hard for opposing team to hear on The Blue as it is in the Big House.

Oregon's Autzen Stadium is known for being loud. We tried to tell Duck fans there team was gonna have trouble with crowd noise on The Blue but they didn't believe it until Oregon got the ball the first time. At home the Bronco crowd really is the 12th man.

Those of us who travelled with the Falcons to Boise can attest to that!

From the broncos record at home to the loudness of the field I believe Bronco Stadium should be one of the hardest places to play in the nation.

I would love to see it closed off as well, just to help keep the sound in even better and make it a louder place to play. However, it's pretty difficult to justify additional seating when we very rarely approach sellouts at the current capacity.

Of course if Clawson starts owning the MAC that could change.

+1 to what hammb says about justifying additional seating. No need to add additional seating. In fact, we have just the right size stadium as it is right now.

NOW if we can sell out the stadium six times each year, we can think about raising our ticket prices. Make it to where people WANT to get into the Doyt to see a game. Make the ticket to the Doyt, THE TICKET in town and in Northwest Ohio.

The seating capacity is just fine where it is.

BGSU's 12 man can be at times the wind.

I attended BSU from 95-2000, and watching the stadium changes, to include the new pressbox this year was incredible. This program has done an amazing job with regards to promotion of the stadium, athletics and of course the Fiesta Bowl win, which really helped out with funding for the new press box, not to mention the national attention. Love being the BCS buster!!

A recent poll of some sore ranked Bronco Stadium as one of the top 15 toughest places to play. BCS apologists always criticize us for our SOS. But after holding Oregon to 14 yeards total offense and no first downs in the first half, how may big programs will play us anywhere but in their houses?

I gotta give Oregon State credit. They stepped up to the plate several years ago and played us twice on their field and twice on ours. We won at home and they won at home. They are back on the schedule next year.

The Bowling Green Stadium looks like a very nice facility. Was glad to hear it is field turf so you can' do the old water down the grass routine.

Doyt Perry Stadium is designed so that 5 mph winds feel like 25 mph winds.

I know you're going for the fact The Big House holdes over 100K fans, but having attended a few games there and a few other Big 10 and SEC stadiums that Michigan Stadium is the quietest collection of 100,000 you'll ever find.

I know this is "old stuff" from your senior citizen, but Perry Stadium was originally designed to add a 2nd deck on EACH side of the stadium to increase seating to 45K.. As Hambb has pointed out, there has been little or no need to even consider this, since we can't sell out 24K except in rare instances...like the NIU "game day" contest years ago...That was the LOUDEST crowd I'd ever heard at BG, probably fueled by alcohol, but an overall great day of football. And I was at the UT game that had set the all time record of 33K. Sad to think that we've been unable even approach filling the current 24K on a semi regular basis.
