Rick Chryst on WTAM (Cleveland) this morning...

MAC Commissioner Rick Chryst was on with "Wills and Coleman" on WTAM this morning. He says that if Michigan State wins over Hawaii, ALL SIX bowl-eligible MAC teams will go to bowls.

Also noteworthy of mention, Akron's coach will win Coach of the Year, and Charlie Frye from Akron will win the Player of the Year award "even though he was named to the All-MAC second-team behind another quarterback." (Chryst's words - wonder who it is :D ).

WTAM is usually good about posting audio... as soon as I see a link, I'll post it. They're kind of busy this morning with the Browns coaching situation

So I guess we're all rooting for the Spartans. Although I still don't want Marshall to go to a bowl...

Then root for Hawaii...

Marshall would be the sixth to go...

Would it be Marshall, or Akron?

I think Akron goes before Marshall, they have more buzz going, and a QB that gets headlines.

I'm not cheering for the Zips over my Falcons, but its really good to see that program pull itself up and have this kind of season. It is the kind of thing that helps the entire conference, helps build new MAC fans in yet another part of the state.

Go Zips. Fear The 'Roo!

If you want Marshall to be squeezed out, rooting for Tulane may be the solution.

The buzz among the Herdiban is that they will play in the Fort Worth Bowl (against Cincinnati) as long as Louisville beats Tulane. If not, the Herd will stay home.

Hey, lets look at the big picture here. We hate Marshall but they are still in the MAC. If they get into a bowl and win, that's one more bowl win for the MAC and I'll take that even if it is coming from Marhsall!

Akron has done wonders with their campus and the new student athletic center and training facility for football is awesome. $200 Million in capital improvements in the last few years. Now, if they could do something about the Rubber Bowl, it could be a sleeping giant.

Nice season Zips!

Yes but another MAC team in a bowl means more $$$$ for the whole conference. At least Marshall would be putting $$$ towards the MAC!

I do agree it's better for the conference to have as many get to a bowl.
I just need to get over my disdain for Marshall.
It's all on me. The logic is there, yet I am not acknowledging it!

There is a drawing circulating of a 20,000-seat downtown stadium.

That could save the program.

Problem with that SF, is the plans are 10 years away from happening. UA needs to step up to the plate on that.
