BG/OU Predictions

I really believe the winner of this game will win the MAC East, I think it's that big in the MAC race right out of the gates for both teams. A few weeks ago, I liked BG when looking ahead to the start of the conference schedule. But since then, it seems as if BG & OU are headed in opposite directions. That said, if we can find a way to win this game, I really think it could give us the shot in the arm we need right now and we have "winnable" games in the next two after Ohio against Kent State & Ball State. But if we lose to Ohio, I can see us in for a long, long season. The bottom line is, it's been a month since we have last won. We NEED a win here.

I picked us to lose to Troy and it's the only game we've won. So here's to hoping the trend continues and the Falcons prove me wrong again:

OU 27
BG 23

I believe BG will win this one. Our defense is alot better this year and if we can hold Ohio's ground game we could very well win this game. My prediction is...
BGSU 28
ohio 14

The assumption is that we could score any points with this "flashback offensive" scheme. We need more QB keepers to be truly flashback.

OU comes in with their hair on fire and wins by a TD.

Oddly enough, the OU "ground game" has NOT been their big thing at least so far this season...they're throwing the ball much better than in previous years....we need to get pressure..... and tackle better.

This is a big, big game.

It's our MAC opener, which is big enough. But we're on a painful three-game losing streak, too.

And I really believe that the winner of this game will be anointed the clear favorite in the MAC East.

Interested to see what Clawson comes up with!

This is gonna be a tough game for sure...I'm gonna pick BG to win by 10...
I want to see:
1-Geter have a big day with some creative plays...toss sweeps, end arounds, etc..he has the speed there is no doubt! Got to get him in the open so he can break a bunch!
2-Fewer bubble screens and more down the field throws!!!
3-A defense that battles for the entire 60 mts
4-Solid special teams and NO missed FG's...
5-Sheehan to step back up and have a good game making smart decisions...

Easy as that!

Question, is Scheidler playing? If he plays that will open up Barnes and help open up holes for Geter.

BG 38
OU 21

If Scheidler is out, a close game

I like to pick my scores using Yatzee dice, and the dice tell me that...

BG 25
OU 23

Sure some of you may laugh and say no chance, but just remember "The dice don't lie." (In a fake Jamaican accent.)

When the BG offense plays a defense comporable to the MAC (Troy), we're just fine. When we play much better defenses (Mizzou, Boise), the offense can't quite get it done. Jury's still out on Marshall.

Ohio is the worst defense we've played so far. Offense and defense are both just fine.

BG 28, Ohio 10.

Can we have an agreement to NOT talk about the West Virginia Penal Institution for the rest of the year. Thanks.

OU 31
BG 21

Close game, OU scores a TD late to salt away the game. I'd pick BG to win but I need to see more out of the offense to feel confident about this one.

BG>OU

This is precisely the kind of game BGSU has to win. This isn't Boise, which was overwhelming. It isn't MizzoU which was lucky. Finally, this most certainly isn't Marshall, where things were flat. This is a home game against a team the Falcons ought to be able to push past. I'm at least happy some depth building came out of Boise.

I'd say if the weather stays better (and its looking like we might be ok for gametime), BG takes this one by a touchdown and some points. If it rains, it'll be close, and whoever forces more turnovers will win (and given it's a home game, I hope BG forces those turnovers).

Like the MSU game vs Michigan this weekend, this game IS our season.

I like BG to get back to playing like they did against Troy and the first half against Mizzou. Clawson knows this is our real season and he will have the men prepared to do whatever it takes (legally!) to win.

BGSU - 42
The Ohio University - 9
