MAC East Player of the Week... Who do you pick?
MAC East Player of the Week... Who do you pick?
Based on the results of the Kent game, I find it extremely hard to believe that a player other than Barnes or Sheehan would get the nod for player of the week, but who do you take?

Share it.
Both had unbelievable days stat-wise and as huge as that catch and run (with possibly the greatest stiff-arm by a receiver in football history) was, Tyler's cajones on the draw play and fighting for the winning score can't be overlooked.
Both were ridiculous today in a must-win game.

I'd give it to Freddie, but they're both very deserving. Absolutely sick.

Man. Just got done watching the game (had to DVR it because of work). I have seen a lot of great performances by receivers in college football, but never anything that has come close to what Freddie did today. Simply astonishing. Tyler had a phenomenal game, too, but he couldn't have come close to doing what he did without Barnes running the hell out of his routes and throwing stiff-arms the way he did.

+1. I had to work til almost 7 and just finished watching. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????????? Tyler and Freddie were Playstation sick today. Freddie's stiff arm was beautiful...ain't seen a stiff arm like that since Omar planted that Memphis kid in the GMAC Bowl...Bleeding Orange wrote:Man. Just take the win...it's been tough enough this season that any win is a good one. Especially a MAC road win.

Freak, you said it. That was simply dumbfounding. I think Freddie had only one significant drop all night, and given the circumstances, I think that one can be forgiven.
ABC just had a game break during the UM/Iowa game highlighting Freddie's day. Freddie definitely deserves the recognition, but I think that might just put this poll to bed for good. It's got to be Freddie, hands down.

I couldn't watch the game because of work, and unfortunately didn't get it on tv (and don't have DVR anyway). Is there any way one of you (Freak, BO) might be able to make me a copy of the game to watch sometime? I'd really love to be able to see this performance all the way through. If possible, I'd really appreciate it.Falconfreak90 wrote:+1. I had to work til almost 7 and just finished watching. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????????? Tyler and Freddie were Playstation sick today. Boy, P, I wouldn't even begin to guess how I could get this game off of my DVR and on to a DVD for you. I've always wanted to learn how to do that, but I never have.Peregrinner wrote:I couldn't watch the game because of work, and unfortunately didn't get it on tv (and don't have DVR anyway). Do you have access to ESPN360? I think I saw someone mention that this game was available there, and I know that they have a replay option for all games that they air. If you don't have access to it, PM me, and I'll see what I can do to help. One way or another, you HAVE to see this game!

From the sounds of the ABC/ESPN love, I have to believe he might show up in SC's Top 10 Plays.

Ah, it was one of those real quick game breaks. I almost missed it myself. It still is pretty cool to see him getting some national recognition, in prime time, no less!TG1996 wrote:Crap. I just saw one a couple minutes ago. It was an All America gamebreak or something like that. They showed his stats and some highlights.Bleeding Orange wrote:Ah, it was one of those real quick game breaks. I almost missed it myself. Freddie's day was simply unreal. Tyler throwing for 500 is awesome, but for a WR to go over 270 himself with 22 catches and 3 TDs? That's just insane.
Re: MAC East Player of the Week... Who do you pick?
He deserved that one after last week. Last week's drops still hurt, but this kid's put the team on his back quite a few times the last 3 1/2 years and it was great to see him shine.hammb wrote:Freddie's day was simply unreal. Can't wait to get back to my home computer, which still has ESPN360.com pulled up.
