According to the BG News:
Senior safety P.J. Mahone was reinstated to practice Tuesday, Clawson said yesterday.
Mahone – who was suspended indefinitely Sept. 15 – is practicing with the scout team and may return to the field next month if he continues to meet Clawson’s standards.
“We’re hoping it works out, but ultimately that will be up to P.J.,” Clawson said.
Sophomore Keith Morgan has filled in for Mahone since the suspension, recording 41 tackles, one fumble recovery and one interception this season.
Mahone had recorded 21 tackles in two games before the suspension.

I agree Karl...PJ, keep your head on straight man. Stay away from the wacky-tobacky and get your AZZ on the football field! We need you out there to finish this season strong! Maybe Clawson should go about taking the names off the back of the jerseys again so the players know just who they are playing for!

Speaking of taking names off of jerseys, who else besides me loved that move in the 2006 season? Yeah, the season stank, but I thought it was a great move by Brandon to have only one name on the uniforms, not two. Much of 2006 was about team growth, and though the season was bad, I believe it was needed for a successful 2007 season.

I hate it when teams take names off of jerseys. It's the most overrated psychological ploy in sports. Come gameday, the players don't care about stuff like that. Their mindset is on executing the plays and doing the things it takes to win. Names don't block, names don't tackle, names don't catch passes in the end zone, etc. To say that the players are worse at accomplishing these things with names on the back of the jersey is a fallacy. There's no evidence that the college teams (like USC & Notre Dame) that don't have names, play any better than those that do (such as Florida & Ohio State). And to say that something we did in 2006 was to the betterment of the program completely ignores our record from that season and the seasons around it. It's presumptious to say that 2006's move contributed to 2007, or that 2007's bringing the names back killed our chances in 2008. It's all about talent, coaching, and execution, and that's it. And under Gregg Brandon, we had a lot of the first, not much of the 2nd, and not much of the 3rd either.
Oh and by the way, PJ better get his butt back on the field to atone for his not being around for the Boise, Ohio, and Kent torchings of the defense. His suspension possibly cost us a trip to Detroit, already.

I'm glad to hear P.J. is back as well. Should give us a good boost on defense. I'm certainly not going to pin any of the losses squarely on him, though. There were many more problems in those games than just one missing defensive player.
