Well, since it has a clearance sticker on it I would guess that a Boise fan ordered it and failed to pick it up. The store is just trying to recover the cost of an otherwise ruined cake.

Being that I work at Wally World in Bowling Green, I definitely can answer this. I work in produce, which is adjacent to the bakery, and the department manager of the bakery knows I'm a BG student. I took here a football schedule, and gave her the team colors of BGSU and all of the teams they are facing. What they were supposed to do, from what I understood, is design cakes that said "Go Falcons" and cakes that were split in half, with one half BG and one half the opposition, as a cake for gameday. It would say something like, "Bowling Green vs. Boise State". Well, they got the bright idea to actually do a few cakes completely in the colors of the other team supporting the other team. The strange part is that they, for the most part, sold. Fans from the other team stopped in, saw these cakes supporting their team, and bought them. They made 5 or 6 cakes, and sold at least half. They also did this for the Ohio game with the same result.

So yes, odds are that they will do CMU cakes. If it sells, why not? I don't like the idea either, and would be happier with the all BG and the half BG, half CMU cakes.
