Take that Turdledo!

The GMAC Bowl has first dibs on the MAC and they don't even wait until the MAC Championship to pick a team from that game. Even though we lost to Brucie (he still throws like a girl) and the Rockettes, we are the top choice from the MAC. I will take this as a consolation to losing to the thugs from up north.

Sorry, but you are way off the mark here. The GMAC bowl only selects early because it is one of the first bowls played and needs time to promote things and make travel arrangements, etc.

This has nothing to do with who the best MAC team is...especially in this year of anomally.

Yes it does. I do not buy that because in the past this particular bowl has waited until after the MACC. We are the most attractive MAC team. Period.

They picked Miami last year before the MACC. They picked them before we Won the West IIRC....

Of all the bowls tied to the MAC this year, the GMAC seems the most attractive. It has a contractual tie-in, a solid opponent and a reputation for providing an exciting match up.

Fans all over America are saying "man, that GMAC bowl always has a great match up, I hope Bowling Green is playing this year".

Their wish has been fulfilled....

Listen to RWT because you have NO idea what you are talking about. The GMAC bowl has NEVER waited for the MACC game to pick the MAC representitive. In fact this is the latest they have ever waited to select a MAC rep.(date wise)

I'm glad we got the GMAC invite, but we didn't get it because we are necessarily the best or most deserving team (of course, I believe we are). As stated, the GMAC usually picks much earlier, without knowing who would be the conference title. The MCB will now take the conference champ and the MACC game loser will get a nice consolation prize --- SVB, etc. ...

Settle this dispute.. has the GMAC bowl (since it began its MAC tie-in) ever not taken a team from the MACC?
Oh wait, yes.. the Falcons.. this year.

Regardless of when GMAC picks their teams in comparison to when the MACC is held, the fact is that they picked us first rather than pick one of the MACC teams or any other team in the MAC. That fact alone allows us to have our egos inflated a bit... :D

for the record, miami was selected before last year's macc by the gmac. recall that bg was invited to the mcb immediately following the 49-27 loss to the redhawks.

Let's take this opportunity and be very careful with the chest pounding. I personally feel estatic going to a bowl, but don't feel worthy after this season.

Next year, when we win it all, I'd rather have the respect of the MAC than a growing deep hatred for all things BGSU.

Here is the deal. The Motor City Bowl has first priority to pick the MAC Champions. In order to keep such a strong tie to a bowl that annually brings in 50,000 fans and National TV, the MAC Championship opponents could not accept bids to any other bowl because the Motor City Bowl wants the MAC Champion.

The GMAC ALWAYS needs to extend their bid as early as possible. They have traditionally wanted Marshall because of their ties to the South. The Motor City always wants Toledo because of their drawing power.

You people on here don't really have much of a clue how things work. For a school as good as you have been the last couple of years and NOT able to draw more than 18,000 a game, it is pathetic. You guys are still living off Meyer's recruits. Another couple of years and you are back to your normal, mediocre selves. Toledo will continue to be consistently dominant.

Hey, how about winning a road game? In addition, you guys are good, but not THAT good. Look at your wins this year:

SE Missouri State (3-8 in I-AA)
Temple (2-9)
Central Michigan (4-7)
Ball State (2-9)
Ohio (4-7)
Eastern Michigan (4-7)
Western Michigan (1-10)
Marshall (6-5)

Combined record of teams you beat: 26-62 (.295)
