THREE measly points on FIVE trips to the redzone!!!

A fumble, an interception, a missed field goal, a turnover on downs....and one made field goal. There may as well have been a giant wall across the 20 for BG today, it was a disaster zone down there.

It seemed like everytime we got to the redzone, I found myself asking how are we not going to score this time? We just about covered all the possible ways...

Yeah, I'm kinda confused as to why you would start 2 threads saying the exact same thing.

That's just what 33 does. Whether it is basketball or football you can always count on him being here making new topics after a game. Usually negative ones I might add.

Don't feel bad about the red zone difficulties. Arizona was in the red zone multiple times and walked away with field goals and a total of 19. CMU defense has a way about them this year (for the first time in many years) that bends, but somehow makes plays in the red zone. You're not the first team to move the ball and not score. Don't ask me how, but we keep playing that D. It also probably didn't help that the wind was gailing across the field...

No offense, but it's not just an "OMG CMU is teh greatezt!!11!11" thing. We have settled for field goals or worse way too many times this year for as well as our offense can move the ball.

The story of our year, for sure. Troubles in the red zone have absolutely killed us all year.
So another turnover-laden, mistake-prone performance from BG at home? Shocking. It's about all that ever happens at home anymore. Get ready for less than 5000 in attendance for that 5:30pm Friday nighter against Akron. First of all, it's 5:30pm, second of all, it's Akron, third of all, it's probably going to be cold as hell, and fourth of all, who's going to reasonably expect us to actually get a win at home given our recent track record? Whew. (FWIW, I still think we're going to win that game because Akron is horrible)

No offense taken. Our defense isn't the greatest, but they have established a pattern of play this year that has limited opponents scoring once they enter the RZ. I'm not that familiar with BGSU's problems this year, sorry. Ineffectiveness in the RZ can be attributed to many things; coaching, practice habits, inability to handle pressure, players unable to make plays in tight areas, etc. Don't give up on the HC. He's improving the program and that's what you want. Remember, these players have a year of futility to try and overcome while establishing their new attitude.
