Did we lose to CMU or to ourselves out there today?

First off, hats off to CMU. Over the past several years it has clearly been "the" team in the MAC and overall the class of the conference. No question about it. But man did today feel like we beat ourselves more than CMU did us with the turnovers and redzone disasters! CMU won this game no questions asked, and good teams don't beat themselves....but BG sure did help CMU claim this one...

this game was so poorly played by the falcons. I have no idea how in the world we even hung around them that long. are defense was not there, our offense was all over the place, one minute we make a huge play, next turnover. I dont even know what to expect the rest of the way. I just get so frustrated because this team really does have the talent to be a contender of the MAC championship, and its like we just throw it out the window.

Sheehan and Barnes did their part. Where was you're running game? You can't consistently win in the MAC without some running threat. Todays weather probably affected your passing game and with very little running threat you were too one dimentional. Give coach time to install everything and recruit his players. BJ walked into a team with some talent that had won the MAC the previous season, so they already had confidence and attitude. Your squad has some talent, but doesn't have that defending champion confidence yet. Keep it positive, get some run blockers and a couple of RB's and you'll be ready for the title run. Also, weren't you missing a couple of OL today? That didn't help.

Oak, You're right about no run game...this has been a major problem all year, coupled with our INABILITY to STOP the other team from running the FB. And you're spot on when it comes to the OL... A.- we're NOT good run blockers to begin with as the Brandon offense basically was pass oriented... and B. losing TWO starters involved ulitimately resulted in THREE men in unfamiliar roles... LG moved to C, New LG and New LT.... yet, the majority of our successful runs seemed to go to left side of offense... thought our RS freshman T from Middletown did a pretty good job in a tough situation... obviously, the films might show otherwise, but I watched him a lot and thought he was pretty solid.

Once again, we lost to Family Weekend. I blame all of the turnovers on the Family Weekend jinx. Honestly though, we beat ourselves quite a bit today. Two of our Red Zone trips resulted in a fumble and a missed FG. Capitalize on both those trips and the score is mighty different. Our Defense often plays with an attitude that has no faith in their Offense. They try to make big plays and end up giving them up instead. I thought our Defense did a great job for a lot of the game but just couldn't keep it up for as long as they had to. BEAT THE BULLS!
