It's ridiculous that we're playing the day after Thanksgiving anyway. The NCAA is holding everyone's feet to the fire for attendance, and we schedule games (year after year) when ALL the students are away. You don't qualify for I-A by being on TV multiple times. You qualify by attendance, among other things. I was a student in the early 80's when we actually dropped to I-AA ('82 I think) the last time the NCAA closely monitored attendance. Schedule more Sept games, drop the mid-week games and concentrate on gettin' butts in the seats. Actually, mine takes up two seats (Coneys and Gyros are good).

It does suck for all of you out of towners, and I feel for ya. As a season ticket holder, though, I'm much happier about a 2:00 kick than I would be an 11 AM kick.

The Thanksgiving weekend is the worst. I mean, with family in town and other Holiday obligations, it makes it really tough. I really think we sell-out to TV way too much. Again, we've cut back to recruiting only our region, so why worry about "national" exposure.

Not so much an editor as a like-minded beer drinker.

Getting up to tailgate for an 11 a.m. game was going to be rough!

I was at BG in the early 80s and we were never IAA.

Dude, in 1982 we dropped to I-AA for a year. I know it sucks to hear. but it happened. We obviously didn't advertise it, especially in a Championship year, but it was what it was. Check for yourself!!

Yep...DT Andre Young was a 1AA all american and the team itself was ranked in the top ten in 1AA nationally....back then the demarcation was seating capacity and average attendance of ALL games. That's when teams like BG began scheduling what are now called money games. You'd pick up an ass whupping every year or so to elevate your total attendance

Yeah... I'm not really all that pissed. I work in retail and probably won't get off of work until 2pm at the earliest anyway. Then there's a 2 hour drive. So, I was probably going to miss it anyway. Now I'll just hope against hope that they shorten my shift that day and I can swing heading up there. (Not likely though.)

We are going to Dayton to have Thanksgiving with the in-laws. I was really wanting to watch the game on TV so I wouldn't miss it.

Call (419) 530-3500 and speak with Tim. He's responsible for the performance of the Rockettes this year and because of their poor record, this game will not be shown on TV.

I was also at BG in the early 80's. If memory serves me right we were demoted to Div I-AA at the beginning of the 82 year and re-classified to Div I mid year. I believe at least half the conference teams had to have a capacity of 30k and average home attendance of 18k. As the attendance numbers came in through the course of the year we (the MAC conference and the teams within) regained our D-I status. But i have consumed a lot of adult beverages in the past 28 years so don't quote me.
