We're starting to get the right idea with our promotions. Last week we went all out to get students to show up, which was a good call seeing as it was on a Friday evening. Now we're going for the traveling/tailgating crowd for our premier game of the season, where tons of alumni will hopefully be pouring in from all over the place.

Like I said last week, this is the kind of stuff we should be doing every game. It shouldn't be that difficult to come up with good promotions that fully utilize our corporate partners and affiliated town businesses.

This is an incredibly tempting offer. Even for the ticket alone, $10 is a steal. Throw in a meal on top of it and it's very good. I wonder if they'd deliver to the tailgate area?

I usually have a ticket hook-up when I get to town, but I'm leaning toward this route.

If I hadn't just gotten a student to buy me a discounted ticket, I definitely would have looked into this offer.

FWIW,
They've been doing "tailgate" parties at Mileti before each game this year... problem is... lack of publicity PLUS, my criticism to them was that they STARTED each of these ONE HOUR before game time... The UT game is listed as a 12:30 start for this event, but now they're in 'competition' with the event in the tent... Cost was $5 ahead of time via reservation or $10 on site... but DIDN"T include a game ticket...

If it wasn't for the fact that Curt Miller and Co. have a game at 7pm that night, the game probably would have been moved to 7 or 8 several weeks ago. Can't have our teams competing against one another.

I'll say what isn't politically correct: They need to move the women's game. I don't see why we are bumping a game that ought to draw nearly 20,000 people in an ideal year, for a basketball game that might draw 1500. I say this despite being a supporter of the women's team since I was a freshmen. I'd feel this way if it were hockey, men's basketball, or otherwise. It just does not make any sense to me.

I don't get why the women's game is on this Fri. Should be on Sat. They could be having a double header with the men tomorrow.

My guess is the womens team from UNC-G would like to get home from their road trip as soon as possible.

They play tonight at OSU and then us on Friday. This gives them some extra time before their Tuesday night game.

And the men do not play tomorrow. They play on Saturday and Monday.
