Ugly game....but it was a WIN over ut...and that is ALL THAT MATTERS!!! Anytime we beat ut....it's AWESOME!!!

That win was ugly but awesome. Thanks to the AZZ team to welcome me to there tailgate today. It was great to meet some of you. By the way, Hammb, falcon fanatic, I sit right behind you guys against the press box. I also saw that Majorfalcon was close by. I was right in the middle of you guys but at the top. Once again great win, to bad freddie couldnt get the record this week but now he may have a chance at the record in a bowl game. WOO HOO

Definitely not the prettiest game I've seen, but still a win again Tol*do! I just returned from the trip to BG and had a blast. I'm crossing my fingers for a bowl game!

An ugly win would have been 38-0.
38-24 was beautiful.

They made the plays that needed to be made at the critical times in the game. The offense, defense and special teams all contributed to the victory. I couldn't be prouder of the team or more pleased with the mentality that Coach Clawson has imbedded in the program.

The mentality and approach of the two coaches couldn't be more different, and I am eternally thankful that we have Coach Clawson on our side. One approach (the failed one) is based on advertising your silly little gimmicks in public, blustering and boasting on Twitter and allowing your players to rip the other team in the papers the week before the game. The other approach is to handle the magnitide of the game internally, the "speak softly and carry a big stick" method that we carried out to perfection. It's not about yelling and screaming. It's about holding a team meeting on Thanksgiving Day and having the seniors speak to the team about the meaning of Falcon football and how desperate they are to continue the ride for another month in a bowl game.

It's about accomplishing something rather than telling someone you're going to accomplish something. It's about coaching 11 players how to block a punt rather than updating your own personal website. It's about substance over style, and BG has the former in spades.

+1, Joe. I'm so very glad that we have Coach Clawson on our side. He's a class act, an excellent motivator, an excellent in game coach, and as far as we've seen so far, a great recruiter. I've heard nothing but compliments from football players and families about Coach Clawson. I believe we have hired the real deal in coaching. Not just does he win, but he wins the right way. It's unfortunate that Temple had its run this year, otherwise I imagine Coach Clawson would be up there for MAC coach of the year. But, like all of his players, he is a far bigger fan of winning than personal accolades.

+2 joefalcon, that was a great well put post. Coach Clawson is a great person and great coach. He did what he could to the best of his ability with this team. If Gregg Brandon was still coach this year I wouldnt be suprised to go 4-7 or worse. Clawson has a nack for being able to change up how our team plays. These last 4 games have shown this with our defense playing entirely different in the second half. Coach Clawson, your an awesome coach and I have no doubt that you will mold this program into a powerhouse again in the MAC.

on a side note Id just like to say thanks to our seniors. Freddie Barnes, Tyler Sheehan, you both will be sorely missed! Now lets get to this bowl game and bring home a trophy and a new NCAA record!

There is NO such thing as an "ugly win" over Toledo. Every win over that school up north is beautiful. 3 in a row feels great...ut had our number for the last decade as we went 3-9 in 12 years.

39-31-4 series lead....let's get #40 next yr!
