That's B.S. it is like the BCS said "here you go TCU and Boise State, have fun at the kids table" while the adults go on and do big people stuff.
Yeah Mooseburger and the heads will call it the "Mid Major National Championship" but I don't want that. I want TCU and Boise State to have a shot at one of the BCS schools to expose the system for the house of cards it is. If only the Nebraska kicker kept it in bounds or they didn't horse collar. . . .
TCU might just be the best team in their own state.

The BCS doesn't want their big boys losing twice in the same season against non-BCS schools so they take the easy way out and pit them against each other. Pretty spineless.

College Football is the greatest sport in the country, unitl bowl season. It's on the same level as boxing at bowl season.

I think TCU is the best team out there, and I am a Bama fan.

Interestingly, at least two of the talking heads on ESPN said that TCU and Boise should have both been paired with "AQ" conference teams. Glad to see SOMEONE saying that on the national stage.
Why did they do this? Simple, IMO. If TCU & Boise both played BCS schools and won (God forbid), there would be wailing and gnashing of teeth that they coulda shoulda woulda been national champs. But by playing them against each other, at least one of them will lose and, as for the other, the Powers That Be can still say, "well, they really didn't play anybody." Nice.

I still like this matchup. To me it will be more entertaining than ANY of the other BCS bowls. Rooting for Boise St.!

I think it feels like a play-in game in the NCAA Tourney. Are they playing in Dayton?

I actually was thinking the matches seem pretty entertaining. And since I tend to think the non AQ conferences are milking the BCS cow anyway, that there is even a game seems fair enough. It isn't a playoff, so much the better, and I'd rather see interesting matchups. TCU-Boise seems a good one.

from a boise fan...
THANK YOU.
i stopped by to see if other fans felt as i do.
all non-AQ teams would've been better off with boise and TCU playing AQ teams and smoking them, because it would continue to underscore that the "big 6" conferences don't hold the monopoly on great teams.
but no. they'd rather throw us yet another bone and tell all non-AQ teams to deal with it.
i hate the BCS more than mark mangino hates salad.

I like the matchup but I would much rather see Boise and TCU smoke a couple BCS conference champs. Putting these 2 teams against each other is an easy way out. Don't have to worry about any of their precious BCS teams getting embarrassed.

What he said.
Should be a great game, but is still total BS.

As a KU Alum, I can tell you that Mangino likes anything that resembles food...healthy or not! Why do you think he has anger issues. If the players would not get between him and his food, he wouldn't get so pissed.

It's absolutely ridiculous. Like you said, should be a great game, but sucks that they made 'em play each other.
Another question I have is how the revenues work out now that there are 2 teams from non-BCS conferences playing in the big bowl games. From the research I've done over the past year or two it looks as though the nonBCS conferences are guaranteed $9 million in BCS revenue. If they get a team in one of the big games that number is doubled to $18 million. I think it gets divided such that the conference of the team playing in the game gets half of the $18 million and the other $9 is divided equally among the other nonBCS conferences.
However, I have never seen anything to indicate that having 2 teams make one of the big games doubles the revenue to the nonBCS conferences or anything of the sort. I don't think that they ever considered the chance when they created the agreements, but the revenue distribution never works the same for us as it does for the BCS schools.
Somehow I keep thinking that the BCS will use this opportunity to screw over the nonBCS conferences again.

Its pretty upsetting when TCU is ranked above Cincy in the last week and then the bearcats get booted over them. I know it has to do with their strength of schedule but while the bearcats are just squickin by to win their games the Horned Frogs are kickin tail with their win margin around 28 points a game (if im not mistaking). Dont get me wrong I have nothing against the Bearcats in fact id like to see them in a championship game over texas but now just handing a bcs bowl to two mid-majors to duke it out, thats crazy! There is just one think Id like to say... WE NEED TO START A PLAYOFF SYSTEM. Thats what college football needs. 11 automatic bids for each conference and the rest at-large bids kind of like college basketball. SCREW THE BCS!! and go BG!!
