Will there be an "organized" trip to Boise?

Post by Class of 61 »

I'm assuming something that may or may NOT come to pass. I'm hoping that the alum assoc. or Ath. Dept. will sponsor some sort of trip that results in "discounted savings" to Boise... When I checked plane tix and hotels a week or so ago, out of Cleve., the total would've been over$1500 for two people...and that was coming into Boise on the 29th, returning home on the 31st... It would involve our missing NY Eve with our best friends as it's unlikely that we'd be in time for NY Eve celebrations unless we got a very early flight out of Boise to come home... since they're 2 hrs. behind us time wise.
It MIGHT be worth it to go even if we had to drive to Toledo to catch a plane if the price was right. Otherwise, I guess it'll be watch the Falcons onTV and remember to turn on the DVR.
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)

I fly from Boise back to Ohio a couple of times a year, and it's about 9-10 hours, total time, airport to airport. Just for example, my flight home at Christmas is at 2:30pm, and gets into Columbus about 10:30pm. Flight back to Idaho leaves Columbus about 7pm and gets into Boise about Midnight. All time are local. A trip I have planned in January is fairly similar in terms of overall length, except that I'm flying into Detroit. Those trips all include a layover in Minneapolis of about an hour. They're not terrible flights, but they are defiantly less than fun.
