Bowl Package/Charter Flight?

Post by MajorFalcon92 »

Does anyone know if the University or Falcon Club is putting together a bowl package or charter flight?

I asked this past Monday about this and the only information as far as a "package" is the room rate at the Doubletree Riverside in Boise, the BG hotel, is $109 per night. As far as travel I think we are all on our own. And with the 28th and 29th being high volume days for the airlines, the prices reflective of this. I believe you can contact the ticket department for game tickets.

It would have been nice to have a package plan but I suppose we can work on that next year!

Mitch,
I've also checked with some people I know at BG...evidently,there are NO plans to do such a trip... Ath. Dept. supposedly isn't working on it, due to budget restraints...FC or Alum. Assoc.have made NO mention. If they haven't done anything by now, It's pretty clear that, if you want to see the Blue turf in person, you'll have to be able to the hookups yourself, much less the $1500-2000 it'll take to do that... We've just reconciled ourselves to watching the game on TV, though I may buy 2 tix to be given out to needy kids, to help BG sell its quota.

There actually is a school sponsored package....but it was about $800 more than what I was stringing together out of Priceline, Kayak, Orbitz, Expedia, etc etc...basically I was looking everywhere and concluded that a shoestring budget was still too high at about $1500 (Logan eats a lot nowadays).

$2300 got you two rt plane rides, rt transfers to airport, and to game, 2 tix to game, 2 dinners, alumni function. Hotel would still be on you as extra. I have the email still, if you want it forwarded just PM me with your email.

Unfortunately, we will be watching on tv...so Tyler to Freddie in 55'' of LED backlit splendor. Maybe for XMAs we can get some cherry bombs to set off to mimic the cannon.

For those either living in or visiting the Akron area....the local alumni chapters are having a Watch party at the Barley house in downtown Akron.
There is no other way to finish a season other than yelling at the top of your lungs among BG's players holding the Peace Pipe aloft!

That is the problem the university almost always makes. Instead of trying to find an economical way to get a lot of people to go and thus sell tickets, they try to hit a homerun on the travel package and this puts it out of most peoples reach.

You can bid on a Bowl Travel Package:

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
