I was doing absolutely nothing (and loving it) tonight and started doing random searches on Wikipedia. Because I'm cool like that. Something made me look up the BG football page, and as I scrolled through it I discovered that someone has been doing some work there recently. All of our record holders have been updated, and if you scroll down towards the bottom of this link, take a look at the passing and receiving leaders:

For all of the griping, bitching, whining and moaning that has taken place since the game last week, we witnessed something really, really special this year, folks. Tyler and Freddie had, arguably, the greatest year of any offensive duo in the history of BGSU football - I, for one, am very thankful that I got to witness that.

On an unrelated side note, according to the Wikipedia page, we not only play Michigan again in 2011...we HOST Michigan in 2011. If only Wikipedia were a reliable source...

Not even a comment on the Michigan situation? Did I miss something?

I not trying to take anything away from Tyler or Freddie, because they probably did have the greatest "statistical" season of any duo in BG history. But I'd like to define "greatest year of any offensive duo in the history of BGSU football" by championships.

Either the 1991 (11-1 and 8-0) or 1992 (10-2 and 8-0) season by Erik White and Mark Szlachcic would be my top choice. Undefeated in MAC play both years and winners of a bowl game both years (California Raisin/1991 and Las Vegas/1992). Erik White a two-time MAC Player of the Year and Szlachcic first team All MAC both years and goes to the Senior Bowl and catches a touchdown.

Both duos had great years but I have to give the edge to the ones that actually won a championship.
