Re: GMAC broadcast . . .
Yeah Its pretty bad but its the only way these lower budget commentators can give there 2 cents on the National Championship tomorrow since we all know they wont be there anyway. Really hoping the Chips can pull off the win. The MAC needs a bowl win BAD!!!

Re: GMAC broadcast . . .
It's not looking good. The Mac's bowl losing streak is beyond embarrassing
Re: GMAC broadcast . . .
As I Posted that CMU takes the kickoff back. Come on Chips!
Re: GMAC broadcast . . .
Thank goodness CMU pulls out the win. I think if Troy would have won there could have been a pretty good argument that the Sun Belt had surpassed the MAC. It's still close but I think the MAC is just a bit better.
Re: GMAC broadcast . . .
The Sun Belt is getting stronger and the MAC seems to be on average getting kind of "meh", but I think top to bottom, it's still no contest. At most, Troy's win would have evened their season series against the MAC. Instead, they now have to do our laundry.doughash wrote:Thank goodness CMU pulls out the win. And I just love Rod Gilmore and his concern for Sandy Alomar, Jr. not getting into the Baseball HOF

They were obviously under some orders to hammer away at the BS title game. You could tell they were reaching after a while.
But I have to say this - Gilmore obviously studies because he's able to offer some good insights on most broadcasts, even if he's not a great announcer.
And I thought they maintained focus on the game through the 4th quarter and into OT. In fact, the play-by-play guy, when forced to talk about the NBA game to follow, kept saying, "but we've got a great one here" or something similar.
Sidenote: I love the ads for Mobile. I really want to visit that city again!

I think the biggest factor in all of the fellating of the game today is that it is on ABC, ESPN's affiliate/owner/lover.1987alum wrote:They were obviously under some orders to hammer away at the BS title game. You could tell they were reaching after a while.

And you are right on about Mobile, '87. My dad and I were talking about how totally impressed we were with the city in 2004 last night during the game, and it seems that things are only getting better down there. And I must say, the mayor of Mobile seems like a totally awesome guy. I know nothing about him other than what I saw during the bowl coverage, but I would really like to have a beer with that guy.

It's gotta be hard to think about baseball when they're dreaming of a naked Dan Lefevour.Redwingtom wrote:And I just love Rod Gilmore and his concern for Sandy Alomar, Jr. not getting into the Baseball HOF

Yeah, that best QB in MAC history tag was a stretch IMHO.TG1996 wrote:It's gotta be hard to think about baseball when they're dreaming of a naked Dan Lefevour.Redwingtom wrote:And I just love Rod Gilmore and his concern for Sandy Alomar, Jr. not getting into the Baseball HOF
He certainly can't hold a candle to Tim Hiller.
