Our share of the $24 million record payout to Non-BCS schools. WAC (Boise State) and Mountain West (TCU) got $17.6 million of it while the other three conferences (C-USA, MAC and Sun Belt) split the remaining $6.4 million.

YAY!!! $190,000!!! If we didn't have to give any to Temple we'd get 200,000+. Stupid Owls.

And if we didn't give any to OU it would be the same. Or Ball State. Or BG. But conference members should split it, right? And Temple is a MAC member, albeit a really bad one prior to this year.VDub26Falcon wrote:YAY!!! $190,000!!! If we didn't have to give any to Temple we'd get 200,000+. Stupid Owls.

I'm glad that we got the money, but I still think this method of dispersing BCS money is ridiculous. Rather than let the conferences that actually EARNED that money keep it they instead distribute it among all nonBCS leagues so they can make sure that nobody gets TOO strong. Blah....The Big 10 Gets $22 million for themselves because they got 2 teams in, while the nonBCS gets $24 million to spread among all conferences for their 2 teams?
Something just doesn't seem right here.
Great that we got some cash, but it's just another way that the BCS ensures the have-nots will never join the ranks of the haves.

My comment about Temple refers to the fact that they are basically using the MAC for football income but won't dare move their other varsity sports to the MAC. I say all or nothing.

Don't blame Temple-the MAC didn't have a gun pointed at their head when they cut the deal.

I know...and I do blame the MAC just as much as I blame Temple. But I don't see anything stopping the MAC from requiring the Owls to join fully or leave our football program whenever the time comes to renegotiate the Owls participation in the MAC.

Why worry, they'll wind up leaving for the Big East again, or CUSA, but they won't stay in the MAC.VDub26Falcon wrote:I know...and I do blame the MAC just as much as I blame Temple.
