Freddie Barnes was not invited to the NFL combine...
I cant believe this but according to rivals.com, Freddie was not invited to the NFL combine. There is a huge write up of people who got into the combine and they show Freddie's picture twice and him being left out. This is a shame he deserves to show the scouts what he is made of.

Not to "nit pick", but I see Freddie's picture ONCE....still stinks that he doesn't at least get a formal "look" at the combine...he'll have to have a knockout pro day to impress the scouts I guess...Perhaps with Tyler throwing to him, it'll be just that...hopefully for both of them.

well earlier Freddie was on the hompage of Rivals.com and it was a different pick than the article.

I wonder if it has anything to do with him turning down the Senior Bowl invite. Maybe this is their way of snubbing him for him snubbing the game.
ROLL ALONG!!!
Re: Freddie Barnes was not invited to the NFL combine...
I kinda doubt it. The combine invites for seniors were mostly all sent out well before the Senior Bowl. There was a chance that he might get a late invite when they extended invitations to the juniors who declared, but it wasn't likely.footballguy51 wrote:I wonder if it has anything to do with him turning down the Senior Bowl invite. The bottom line is that the NFL teams are not viewing Barnes as good enough of a prospect for them to spend time with in Indy. He'll have a pro day, and a few teams will show up, but he's clearly not highly regarded in NFL circles.

He is not listed in the ESPN draft database either.

Don't think Lance Moore was invited to the combine by the powers that be in the NFL. He can now take his Super Bowl ring and shove it firmly between their...well, you get the idea. Barnes will get a chance and if his workouts reflect the season he had he'll be playing on Sundays next year.

Didn't Lance get drafted though, at least I thought he was. Anyway seeing a UT skill player play a pivotal role in a super bowl win was excruciating for me in that every other team in the Mac seems to be able to produce these players but we can't for some odd reason. Our receiver are always either way too slow or not big enough to satisfy NFL coaches/GM's. Moore is roughly 5'10-5'11 isn't he? So apparently he must have the speed everyone craves to have stuck with the Saints all this time. Meanwhile a BG's 6'3 Steve Sanders gets cut left and right from every NFL team he's practiced with,Chuck Sharon doesn't stick anywhere probably cuz of his lack of size or speed. Boggles my mind how all our top receivers over the past 5 or so years can't stick anywhere. With the offenses we've ran in those past seasons I can't believe we haven't landed a top NFL caliber talent at the position. I know its not the end all be all, it just frustrates me.h2oville rocket wrote:Don't think Lance Moore was invited to the combine by the powers that be in the NFL. Nope, undrafted FA who was originally signed by the Browns, but cut free to be picked up, and place on the practice squad, by the Saints.Falconboy wrote:Didn't Lance get drafted though, at least I thought he was.

No draft for LAnce. 5'11", decent speed. but no burner. Possession type guy who runs perfect routes and catches everything. Everything. Great vertical, too. Can't count how often I saw him go over taller guys to make hard catches look easy. Barnes has better size- he'll probably catch on with somebody.

Can you at least let us know how many gloves and/or shoes you had to take off to count how often?h2oville rocket wrote:Can't count how often I saw him go over taller guys to make hard catches look easy.

Perigrinner beat up Lance Moore once, in fourth grade.
