Here's the best place to park:

The Riverview Plaza parking deck $5. It's safe and right in the middle of the Mardi Gras parade route/pep-rallys/Dauphin Street. I suggest getting their around 5:30, maybe earlier. When you park, walk away from Water Street. The parade does not roll down Water Street. The street behind the deck is the parade route and where all the restaurants/bars are. Just ask some locals how to get to Dauphin Street, or just sit there and watch the parade.

Thanks for all the help and info about the various activivities. We're making a special effort to get into town well before the parade..it's one thing that was missed at the MCB last year...though standing in Detroit in Dec. watching a parade might be a bit different than Mobile....even though the weather was OK last year.
