The athletic department has come up with a plan to fill the stadium on Sept 18 called Operation Sellout. I imagine we'll all be contacted through the alumni organization.

Has anyone been contacted, or heard of this initiative??

I, for one, am extremely pumped for this game. I plan on arriving in BG around 2:30-3:00 and getting my tailgate on hardcore! The students should be out in full-force which will be nice and hopefully we will get as many AZZ-ers as possible! Let's Go Falcons! 9/18/2010 cannot get here soon enough!!!

Now this sounds like plan involving foresight. Sell many tickets when the weather is still good and when sales dwindle as the weather becomes even less predictable we won't hear as much about the 15,000 average.

This makes too much sense........ a similar plan may have been mentioned on this board previously. :?:

There will be a 25-year reunion of the undefeated 1985 MAC Champions at the game.

free beer and free tickets will draw 12,000 students. Might be able to get another 8,000 townies.

They did actually lose one game that year -badly. Very badly.

despite the Cal Bowl debacle, the 1985 squad was the FIRST BG team to win more than 9 games and only the second to go undefeated. The key to that year was a CHAMPIONSHIP. The Miami game, the Kentucky win and the shutout vs Toledo made that a very special season. We haven't had a MAC crown for a long time (since '92). That is absurd, so we should savor the rings we do have!!

The Miami game that year remains the single most exciting sporting event I have ever attended in person. It was simply unforgettable.

Great game,as well as the Kentucky game with a late TD pass from Brian McCure to Hunter, I think.

I won't forget the Kentucky game either.....as we were walking out of the stadium, a guy in KY. "Blue" came walking quickly over to me, obviously dressed in my Orange gear. I was unsure of his intent, until he reached out his hand, and said, "Y'all shamed us". I assured him his Wildcats had lost to a pretty good team, even though SEC folk didn't know much about BG. This team definitely proved me to be a prophet.

Not sure what they will announce, but I say we don't break 18,000. That may be a high estimate, too. It is a great idea, Marshall just isn't a big draw.
