Nothing like pie and a good cuppa coffee

I had a coffee rubbed steak down inFlorida last month (Le Cellier at Epcot)...completely changed my outlook on steak.

Steak? I just had steak au poivre in the south of France a week ago or so.... it was SPECTACULAR!!

I had the worst Mexican Food at a "Mexican Restaurant" here is Mars Hill NC. Gads. The guacamole was just mashed avocado - no lime, salt, or anything else which would give it the flavor of guac.

My Fajita had unflavored chicken mixed in with onions [ok], peppers [ok], and yellow squash [wha?].

Their "refried beans" were canned black beans warmed up. Still whole. With the nasty black sediment mixed in. The rice wasn't even good by boxed standards. People thought this was the best Mexican in the area. Oh yeah? Well, how come I didn't see any Mexicans in the restaurant - just crackahs. NOT the sign of a good Mexican restaurant.

The water was good, on the other hand.

A friend offered me a stake in a restaurant he was opening but I passed- it closed in three months.

I passed a lot of steaks, and usually pretty quickly, after eating at the BG Ponderosa when I was in college.
