So, with all the massive mounds of dirt, are they going to "landscape" at all, or are we looking at just a grass footprint where before there was gray gravel?
I'm assuming there is a lot of drainage being worked on, and also seems to be a lot of electrical stuff going on. Is there going to be more lighting? Have there been any designs released?

I don't know the details, but I do like the idea of making the arena grass and removing the gravel. I hope with planting grass here that we also plant trees in this area as well so it's not just one big wide-open field when it's all said and done. It would still be better than what was there before, but I hope they do more than just grass.NWLB wrote:So, with all the massive mounds of dirt, are they going to "landscape" at all, or are we looking at just a grass footprint where before there was gray gravel?

I'm glad the gravel is going away. I can't imagine how many decades of having exhaust from leaded gasoline cars, motor oil, coolant, and other things dripping out of fans bodies have accumulated in that mess. The drawings in a past master plan illustrations looked very appealing, lets hope they do anything at all to break-up the old footprint.

I'm pretty sure I read that it will be more than just a big grass field.NWLB wrote:So, with all the massive mounds of dirt, are they going to "landscape" at all, or are we looking at just a grass footprint where before there was gray gravel?

They are replacing a lot of the old wiring that ran between the existing lighting. That lighting will stay. There are a number of tree clusters that will be part of the project, but at this point there has not been dollars designated for mounding.
