Parking for home games this year...

While at the Doyt yesterday, I was looking over the parking lots where we hope to get some spots this year (6-1, 6-2, 6-3). I gotta say there isn't a whole lot of spots over there. I was talking with Cal Bowers and he seems to think the huge intermural fields between the Stroh Center, IA and DLP is gonna be the place to be. I know this wreaks havoc if FF and BGFan want to bring the Big Ass Camper cuz they have to stay in Lot 20.

So I was wondering what everyone thought of the situation? Can enough of us get there early enough to get some spots or not? Should we shoot for some spaces on the fields?

Good thing we have a few weeks to figure something out. I'll park anywhere as long as the grill is fired up and the Falcons are gonna play.

GO FALCONS!!! 6 days and counting!!!!!! BEAT TROY!

I have already reserved our spots in Lot 20 (I think that's the number; it's the one for campers only) for the first two home games. All I have to do is pick up the passes when I pay for them. Hope you guys can work it out to be near us!! :|

Wonder if they would let us put the camper in any other area....

What have they done with the parking areas out by Interstate 75 south and east of the Doyt? I heard that they were putting grass in and getting rid of the gravel, did that ever come to fruition?

I've been planning on 6-1 since it has a median (I love those things) and it is paved.

The paved aspect means it will be more organized row-wise and less of a mess if there is any precip or even just better than parking in grass.

I wonder where the flow of people parking will populate first?

Most of us are out there early enough to have our pick of it, but those arriving say around 2-3pm I wonder what areas will already be full...

Is that grass field where we used to tailgate last year going to be available this year? The one across the road from Bill's Hill.

And yes, I realize the gravel parking lot is now gone ;)

NEVERMIND, I see that it will be closed due to irrigation work.

Well, at least for the first two games, I'll try to get over by FF and BG Fan. DD makes a good point about the median areas and it is paved. 6-1 will be our first choice and the boys and I should be able to get there early enough. I'm gonna get a room for the night across the street for Marshall and Mrs. Freak is gonna pass on this game. I can be there by noon.

GO FALCONS!!!

OK, you were over by the Doyt and decided to park by the new tennis courts and while there you won a straight set victory, right? Good thing you took it in straight sets- looks like your ooponent was wearing you down.

Parking is on the west side of the stadium. They will be using the practice soccer fields and go all the way to the IM fields near Mercer road.

Since we can park "behind" the scoreboard on the grass, as season ticket holders, I just might look to do that and walk over to the tailgate crew by Marta and Rick's camper... might be less crowded and confusing... and not a long walk, even with carrying a cooler.
