Could have sworn somebody started this already but couldn't find it.
We have to find a way to become more efficient in the red zone. Struggled with that all last season and it continued against Troy. The play calling inside the 20 was terrible and why we lost the game IMO. Obviously have to tackle better than a JV football team too.

Would LOVE to see BG beat this team!!We will need to play a flawless game to win and Coach Clawson and staff have shown in the past they know how to make adjustments.
I'll go with my heart and not my head. BG 38, Tulsa 34.
GO FALCON!

Now that we don't have to tackle Jerrel Jernigan, the defense plays with better fundamentals. Fewer slipped tackles, but Tulsa still scores a lot. We get into a shootout, and Willie Geter goes nuts. Vengeance win.

Unfortunately, we have to worry about another #3 this week; Damaris Johnson. He's listed as a WR and had 299 all-purpose yards vs. ECU (rushes, receptions, kick and punt returns). He's a 5'8" 170lb greased pig. Our D and special teams "may" have trouble with him. One game into his junior year, he's already Tulsa's career leader in KR yardage. As a soph, he led D-1 with 224 all-purpose yds/game.
Their right defensive end (opposing Blaec) was CUSA All-Freshman team last year. Hopefully Blaec can clean things up from last week.
Tulsa had athletes all over the field, and we've got our work cut out for us. I'm not trying to wave the Tulsa flag, but we have to know who we are opposing especially where we don't have favorable matchups.
Hopefully Schilz can do what ECU's QB did, and expose their secondary. Their corners seem young and inexperienced
I hope I'm wrong too, Tulsa 41- BG 24

Last week's prediction - Troy 31 - Bowling Green 21
Actual score - Troy 30 - Bowling Green 27
Last week's game went slightly better than I had anticipated, especially in terms of the offensive output, which leads me to believe that this game is definitely winnable. A game with such powerful offense and frightful defense is very difficult to project though. Either team could get on a run, make a few plays on defense, and run away with it. For BG to win, they will need to do better in the red zone, tackle better, and limit Tulsa's offense to easy plays and not give up home runs and lots of yards after contact.
If this game were in BG, I'd feel better, but it's not. Therefore I'll stick with my original pick from a week ago, and say Tulsa wins a close one. The wins are coming though, maybe I'm wrong and it'll be this week. I can only hope.

Defense still will have issues, don't really see it as a winnable game.

Im nervous about this game but have a weird feeling...it will be an odd lower scoring game than people predict...just because both D's are gonna get ripped a new one in practice. So ill say. BG-21, Tulsa,17

Thank you, AccuScore!
I loved what the offense showed us this past week and I think they will definitely build on it and I also like Schilz to be the next big three-year quarterback in the MAC a la LeFevour. If he keeps things running nice and smooth, it should be a very positive season.
That being said, the Defense needs to step up big time to have any shot against Tulsa's high powered offense. BG
can win but it will be tough.
I like us to win another close game, but this time the breaks go our way at the end.

BGSU-38 in OT
We lose on a missed FG attempt to tie the game in the second OT.
