This is straight absurd. Why is BGSU anywhere near this list?

because we are 0-2

its one man's opinion, nothing to get so worked up about, beat Marshall and our name won't be mentioned

Try not to get to bent about it. Yeah, it's ridiculous to say the least, but this thing is just ESPN's lame attempt at comedy. And they do it just slightly worse that just about everything else they do.

Knowing ESPN, they have us there in preparation for some attack on the MAC next week should we end up 0-3 along with Eastern and Akron.

I guess the title does make it sound like I'm upset...but it's meant to be a sarcastic tone because does anyone really care about the Bottom 10? No. Does anyone really care about ESPN's rankings on anything? Not really.

But I agree. Let's take down the Herd and then the conversation is over anyway!

Exactly. If we beat Troy, we're not even on the radar. If we lose to Marshall, we'll probably be in the Bottom 10 and if we go 0-4 we'll be there for a a few weeks.

The Bottom 10 is in some ways a snark column, but it does have several key points:

1.Any team that loses to an FCS school in a given week is in for that week.

2.The #5 slot is traditionally used to humiliate a BCS school that lost badly the previous week, which could overlap with rule #1 as well. It could also pinpoint a school that had some terrible off-field problems during that given week, players getting arrested, etc.

3.Any team that wins in a given week is off the list. That applies for the whole list, even the team that is #1 the previous week.

4.Often times, they will list teams in tandem, such as F_U for Florida International and Florida Atlantic, and UL-UPick'em for Louisiana-Monroe and Louisiana-Lafayette. The only one of these I've seen involving MAC schools is Directional Michigan, for EMU, CMU, and WMU.

Really it just speaks to ignorance and assumptions that they have us close to the rankings after 2 games. If we had been blown out by Troy and Tulsa that would've been one thing, but espn is being awfully harsh here.

Though this week he forgot Ball State, and Minneosta should probably be one of the ten listed and not on the waiting list, granted losing to 1-AA schools is starting to become their thing.

Bottom line is, this shouldn't be taken seriously by anyone, its not meant to be a serious piece, its a joke piece, its meant to make people laugh, I know its made me laugh before, especially the preseason one this year when he used Lady Gaga songs for all the teams. This is nothing to get worked up about

Sadly, like it happens on the NCAAbbs board, this always turns into some type of logical discussion of a failed attempt at comedy at the expense of student-athletes.

I was suprised when I saw it also . It just goes to show you that its some clown who hasn't watched a snap of college football outside of the saturday night ABC game. ESPN continues to show its ignorance with college football.. They Put SAN JOSE state on the list also .. Now San Jose state maybe bad but They played #1 alabama and #10 Wisconsin to open the season and not one mention of that in the article. All this clown did was do a Sort of all the 0-2 teams and list them.. If BG would have played Dayton and Baldwin wallace and been 2-0 we wouldnt be on the list ...

Well, BG got a mention in this week's Bottom 10...courtesy of Marshall breaking in at #10.
