Weasel Tailgating....Where will you be????

Post by Falcon Fanatic »

BGFan and I will be going up for the game. Where are Falcon Fans planning to meet for tailgating? I'd love to find a place to park and tailgate with other Falcon Fans!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Every other UofM game I've gone to, I always park/tailgate at the tennis facility.

Going up with my wife and folks, but not sure what kind of tailgating we'll be doing or where we may or may not be doing it.

Hope that helps. :)

Most UofM tailgates happen on the fairways/rough of the golf course along E Stadium and S Main streets, and also in the parking lots around Pioneer High School. I noticed riding from State St last weekend, the lots out there are charging $15 and up to park. Near the stadium, you're looking at $35 and up...but the tailgate atmosphere is worth it if this is the only game you'll ever be at up there!

I may just head over to a nearby pub for a while before the game (Fraser's). They serve breakfast on the weekends so it's an easy way to get our food/drink on.

My wife and I will most likely be in the golf course. When I was there in 2000 and aswell as in 2003 we tailgated on the golf course and I really liked it. In 2003 I went there to watch Michigan vs Houston, My uncle got free tickets so we went up and I got to say that was the worst mistake I made. I didnt really enjoy that game because the whole time I kept checking to see how BG was doing against Purdue. My parents had tickets to the game and were there and I was sick over the fact I could have been there instead to see that victory. I still dont know why I choose to go to the UM game over the BG game. DUMB MISTAKE lol. Looking forward to going back to the big house!

I love Ann Arbor...Saw Aimee Mann at the Ark on S Main the other night. That is just about the coolest venue I've ever been in....Ican offer no further insight re bars or restaurants...when I'm in town, I just stop in where ever looks good.

If you like beer you owe it to yourself to check out Ashley's. Fantastic beer bar...something like 80 beers on tap. Great selection!

I saw Blimpy Burger on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives once, but I was very disappointed in it...I wouldn't recommend it at all. Heard good things about Zingerman's Deli, but haven't had a chance to check it out yet.

At least 3 brew pubs to choose from Down town; Arbor brewing company, Grizzly Peaks (my preference) or Jolly pumpkin (several national microbrewery awards, but from people I've talked to its either love it or hate it). Towards the other side of campus there is Pizza House, where you can get great Deep dish chicago style pizza (I really like it). Zingerman's Deli has good food, but is pricey and may be difficult to get into before or after the game. They also own a Steak house off of 94 (I think the exit past the Saline/Arbor Rd) that I hear is pretty good.
Honestly though, if you go down to Main st you will find something you like, and they almost all are local/non-chain restaurants.

I absolutely love Ann Arbor...it's just a GREAT college town. It's what I imagine BG would be like if it had 5 times as many students.
