The national punchline.

Post by NWLB »

This is a quote from the San Jose Mercury News article linked below.

http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercuryn ... 338543.htm

"``Everybody has been feeling like, `Holy Toledo, what if I'm left holding the bag and I've got nothing?'' said Gary Cavalli, executive director of San Francisco's Emerald Bowl.

Or worse, they're stuck with Toledo."

Cheap shot. Tough one to resist though, considering the quote that writer had in front of him.

For whatever reason, no one says "Holy Akron!"

Go over to the TU board and they are not too happy about this article. I would be pissed too if I were them, but none the less, it is funny from our standpoint.
GO BG! Omar for '05 Heisman!

....and when or if it should be us, I'll continue to laugh at their expense.

I haven't seen the MACC Game get so little press in a few years. Normally I'm picking up articles all over the place. With so many teams going to bowls, and the game itself having been moderately boring, with nobody in the stands, its getting ignored.

I think they really needed to get the game on Saturday. Darn the other conferences, its not like the game was going to be on network TV. I really don't think much of having such a game on a weekday.

National Punchline. You wish you had a decent line to protect Omar.

Is that all you can come up with? That was a very weak attempt at a joke

Considering we gave up like 5 sacks all season, I miss his point.

Image Let's see, Omar has 283 passing attempts and eight sacks. Bruce I'llNeverBeaGradkowski has 274 passing attempts and 13 sacks. Who's wishing for what?

I was trying to be civil since this is your board.

Yes, I can do better, but there are some quality posts here. Probably Alums. Not Dorm Dwellers.

Never be a grad?

Post by LakelandRocket »

Oh, did Josh Harris Grad? Big Ben? Daunte? Doubt if Omar will either. Good money in the NFL.

You may want to check your info. Last I knew J5 had not yet graduated. He was doing some coursework during the summer, I believe, but not sure if he ever graduated.

I'm about 99% sure that Josh was not enrolled in BG at all Spring Semester last year, because he went to workout gurus to prepare for the draft.

FWIW, Big Ben did graduate. He was a 4th year Jr., and had graduated in 4 years.

Lakeland:

Let's not make too much over a wisecrack play I made on his name. Geesh, can we flip the "literal" switch and inject a little levity? You made a crack on our O-Line. I responded with a crack on yours, playing off Brucie's name.

Lighten up, Francis.

QUICK: Name that movie!
