Yesterday's defensive effort...and kicking

Seems our D is playing much better over the last three weeks and yesterday at CMU was the best effort yet. The Falcons held CMU to 99 net yards rushing, 231 total yards and sacked Ratcliff SIX times. CMU's average gain per play was 3.9 yards. Excellent job, D. Chris Jones had 3 1/2 sacks and 5 TFL. Jones is my fave player on the D and is turning into a beast. We all know Woods is a stud and Leacock has been steady. I think the D is really maturing thru thick and thin.

Throw some kudos out the Kyle Burkhardt....stepped in hitting both XP's and nailing a 34 yd FG in the 2nd quarter. BiG points as the FG was the difference. Wright did a nice job punting averaging almost 42 yards pp with a long of 52. His kickoffs were decent as well.

Good to see these areas perform well!

Beat Miami

Amazing that special teams actually won us a football game. I agree about the D, it seems as if everyone has finally grasped their positions and responsibilities. As I told my dad last night, good motivation now is to improve to be able to take down Toledo in a few weeks. Season can be salvaged on that game.

Spot on. I think the rest of the season is merely prep for Toledo, which will be our bowl game this year.

So are you and Noah coming over for the "bowl game"?

So 3-9 is a good season if we beat Toledo?

Would I rather be 9-3, hell yeah, but you have to look for positives. Beating you're rival is always a great feeling, and if this team is going to be 3-9, I want one of those W's to be over Toledo.

Globetrot, that list includes some very good returning defensive players. I would say that some younger back up guys will step up as well- DE Ronnie Goble redshirt FR (has been hurt, but is a player), DE Dylan Farrington redshirt FR, and DE Bryan Thomas true FR all have good potential. True FR DT Darius Gilbert is another and, potentially, some 2011 verbal commits could help here early.

Go Falcons!

After this year at least we will have players who have some experience.
