Biggest Attendance of the year at the DOYT

I came back to BG late yesterday to visit friend and family and going to attend the basketball doubleheader tonight. Last night on the news and twice this morning I heard that St Johns is playing Whitmer in football at the Doyt on Saturday. The winner advances to the state final four.
They went on saying that this will be the biggest high school football game EVER in Toledo area, at least since the late 1970s. To hype this game up as the biggest playoff game in over 30 years in NW OHIO is pretty impressive. And the game will be played at the Doyt.
They then went on saying that they expect 15-20 thousand at this game with the close proximity. They said if it was played at the Glass Bowl it would be sold out. Even with that said this high school game will probably be the biggest attended game at the Doyt this year!
BGSU, if anyone is reading this, please do not run out of concessions. Do not screw up the parking. Make this a fan friendly environment. This is your chance to shine!!

BG vs Marshall, 9/18, 20,515.

That marshall number was the announced number, there happens to be a big difference from the announced attendance and the actual attendance. I believe per their pepsi contract a large allottment of that revenue goes to purchase a big block of tickets for each game to help us hit the NCAA min. So they of course add those into the figures for each game.

The place was pretty packed well into the 4th quarter for Marshall. No doubt in my mind there were 20,000+ there that night.

Not a chance that game draws 20,000.

As of this morning both St Johns and Whitmer have sold its allotment of tickets (6000) each. Do not know if they have requested more but that's 12k and we still have 3 days before the game. I think a lot of local people will turn out and get tickets that night so it definitely should be 15k.

From the Blade-
"The crowd was officially announced at 7,336, but you'd have a tough time convincing anyone there that the attendance wasn't closer to 10,000."
I guess the other 10,000 snuck in without tickets.

Are you saying there were 17,336 at the game?
