We may lose the game, but............

I NEVER want to hear anything about attendance from a scud fan! That has to be the worst crowd in the history of the series, maybe even including the 1919 game! ;)
I'm sure they will announce 25,000 or some bizarre figure, but there can not be 10,000 there. WOW!

Not everyone was in the stadium at the start, by the end of the 1st quarter you could see the press box side was pretty full. The student section filled from the 20 yard line through the end zone. The upper deck was completely filled. This is where those cheap tickets for the fan plan promotion were sold for. The visiting side was rather bare.

My guess is around 18K. Like usual though, at halftime most people left. Still can't figure out why most Toledo fans don't care about the final outcome of a game.

As for your comment about Toledo inflating attendance, and about this being the worst ever.....last time the game was at Toledo was 2008, and Toledo announced 11K.

My brother is a BG grad and attends UT now to get his Bachelor's in a career change and has even said there is a difference between school spirit. Said the overall talk of the sports teams is minimal at UT while he felt BG students were more "into" the athletic events. He also commented that there seemed to be little buzz on campus about the game today.

I like how BGsuck fans always have to fabricate lies after they lose to Toledo.

Speaking of fabricating lies, where is the biggest brown kool-aid drinker of them all at? Oh JoeyFalcon! Come out and get yer medicine!

I'm not fabricating anything, my brother just spoke to students on campus who didn't care about the game. Obviously not a representation of the whole but he just felt it was odd more people didn't care especially with the good season the Rockets are having.

WELL over 10,000 in attendance. Student sections were full, West side pretty full-visitor's side was nearly empty in the best seats but the upper decks were about 2/3 full. I'd say in the 18,000 range. Disappointing but the time totally sucked-my daughter couldn't attend because she has to work early tomorrow and there weren't many young ones there due to school concerns. Still far better than many previous UT-BG games.

I want you to think about everything you've ever said after the last 3 wins BG has had against UT, then come back and make a legitimate statement. But from reading your previous posts, the lack of intelligent thought may make that very difficult...

And quoting SB-50 from the "Beat Toledo" thread, since you have just most assuredly proven it,

You guys must clearly not be paying attention to our stands after halftime, either. Most of our students leave, too. While the attendance looked low last night, we really don't have much room to talk.

According to the Blade 22,071...lol. Perhaps they counted every quarter and added it all together. But then since all the TU fans bolted after halftime that wouldn't be an accurate number either. Seemed odd since they were WINNING!

toddpav.......I think you completely missed the point of my post. We all know our attendance is not what we want it to be, but slUT fans are constantly saying how great their attendance is compared to BG's. I think our "butts in the seats" attendance for the Miami game was better than the game last night, at least from what I saw on TV.

I was more referring to the general sentiment that any BG fan can make a statement knocking Toledo for it's attendance. It's ironic, that's all.

And our "butts in seats" for the Miami game was not impressive, either.

Not impressive, but then again we are 2-9. It's much easier to get people to come to games when you're 7-4 (Toledo) as opposed to being totally and completely out of it with only 2 wins. If you thought our attendance was bad for Miami, just wait for the Western Mich game in 8 days. Given the opponent, likelihood for bad weather, our record, and the horrible date/time (I've NEVER liked playing home games the day after Thanksgiving as it's a major pain in the butt for students and for alumni not in the greater BG area), we could be counting in the hundreds.

Looking around the stadium last night, it was a pretty good crowd. Every bit of 17-18,000. Just my 2 cents...

I thought it was a great crowd. Pretty packed on the visitor's side and student section.

After halftime, on the other hand, I'd say more than half the crowd left.
