That may be because Coach Clawson might still on the University of Tennessee's payroll. How long of contract did he have with them?

Playing in the FCS=FCS savings, and possibly winning a national championship.

Currently, the FCS has only two teams in Ohio, 3 in Indiana, and NONE in Michigan.

Who in their right minds would think that a home schedule comprised of teams like Austin Peay, Morehead State, Southeast Missouri State, Tennessee State, Tennessee-Martin and Toledo would draw much more than 1,000 fans for even worse football?

My guess is that it has to do with his buyout with Tennessee as Factman brought up. Most buyouts have salary restrictions that get them off the hook when the coach gets another high paying job. Personally, I don't see what difference it makes. Would paying Clawson more money assure us more wins? I understand paying for proven coaching talent, but not just paying people to pay them.

The truth is that BG does not pay its coaches enough. If we can not pay coaches a decide wage, I wonder what our recuiting budget looks like? I have heard that Urban was not going to take the BG job because, "it is not a good job". BG must decide if it wants to have a winning athletic program and find ways to pay for it. I do not think that prostituting our program by selling it to ESPN for games that start at times which make it difficult for Alumni to get to the games is helping very much. I have long been a defender of the MAC, but now have doubts that it truly wishes to be a top notch athletic conference.
