It sucks... not not necessarily unexpected. He still coached Miami twice as long as Woody.
Correction.... Woody (1949 - 1950) and Haywood (2009-210) both coached at Miami for 2 years.

can't stand Pitt. But reading the Post Gazette for other coverage, I saw a lot of comments ripping the hire because from the MAC. Obviously, they forgot how BG handed them an azz beating and OU also beat them. The retired clown that has a blog commented on the cradle of coaches including Urban Meyer. That is all I needed to read.
How I loved BG beating Pitt at Heinz field. Great to watch with family and friends (Pitt people) and strange at the same time to be at Heinz Field rooting for the visitor.
Great memory

Actually, they DIDN"T forget about the loss, nor the loss to OU....these both were mentioned as part of his "failure" as a Pitt coach!!!! IMAGINE, "LOSING" to a MAC school! And now hiring a MAC coach with only 2 yrs. of HC experience!!!!

Haywood Arrested for Domestic violence. Not a good way to start a new job.

If all the facts come out and these allegations are true and as bad as they look, I think Pitt would probably can him. It looks terrible for the university and can quickly kill recruiting. But ... let's wait until all the facts come out.

Per Ken Gordon of the Columbus Dispatch, Pitt has fired Haywood.

I feel for those assistant coaches. They moved to Pittsburgh, bought houses, enrolled their kids in school, and now it looks like they are out of jobs. Sad situation from every angle.

Many Pitt fans were angry over this hire to begin with and were probably not ready to give him any leeway whatsoever in the presumption of innocence department. Their chief rival West Virginia just landed a guy whose offense put up close to 50 points a game while Haywood was bringing his 74 year old offensive coordinator from Miami where they scored 20.

He was hired 17 days ago. I would bet they don't all have houses yet, but I do here what you are saying.
