But seriously though on the matter. I was a little concerned to see quite a bit of standing water near the I-75/Wooser corner of the brand new lots on Friday and Saturday.

I hope this was just because of the unusual amount of rain (along with the melting snow) we had and not a drainage issue already.

It is the for the Canadian Geese. They didn't have enough room at Forrest Creason.

That said, it remains the great black swamp, and there was a lot of rain.

Darn difficult to drain through frozen ground. Temps hadn't been above freezing for a month.

WBGU had a nice show about the Great Black Swamp last night. I enjoyed the first 30 minutes of it (if only I could have stayed awake for the final 30 minutes).

If it was going to be used for parking, why plant grass? :drinkers:

It's only used for parking 5 times a year. Why have asphalt year round?

Grass looks better, is better for the environment, and it is better to tailgate on.

it's going to be a muddy, rut filled mess the first time (if) they park cars there after a couple of NW OH rain days. :rain:

I noticed at Thanksgiving time there was standing water there, too. But I was assured there was drainage put in.

O well, good luck with it. Hope there's no rain for those 5 days of use and the RV show and the HS playoffs, etc.

The drainage covers were still in place in October. The turf mix was designed for the parking, and is a nice addition for the entrance of campus.

There was standing water in November when the grass was dead? Tell me it isn't so!

Flooded grassy field/parking lot looks much better than flooded weed-infested gravel pattern.

Personally never had a problem parking in the season ticket area the past few years in the grass south of the stadium. If it gets that muddy I am capable of walking in from as far as the lot by the power plant. In honor of President Olscamp - I DO NOT have a parking problem or a walking problem.

The only point that I am making is that since this is brand new installation of the grass with drainage, that it shoud drain.

I understand that ground temperatures are at play, but I also did not see any water standing on the intramural fields.
