I went in to add some guys go our roster from the recruits but first wanted to take a look at who we had coming back. There were 13 names missing. A lot of them are freshmen or redshirt freshmen and would have been Clawson recruits. Some are walkons and I think Walker had a career ending injury. How many of these guys were on the recruit list just last year?

I forgot I woke up in Russia Who brought these player in, let me quess

Watkins and Silk were recruited last year, Farrington the year before. The guys who were soph and above were holdovers from the Brandon era. I don't recognize the rest of the names, so I'm going to assume they were walk ons. Don't know why any of them are no longer on the roster, so I guess it's pointless to discuss the matter beyond that

Pagel and Watkins had too much to leap frog, I'm not surprised they're leaving.

Blaec Walker had a serious injury this year and I think it was called a career ending injury. Bummer because he is a really nice guy.

That is a bummer about Walker. Farrington got some playing time last year so that's a bit surprising.

Five of these players were walk ons at various levels. Commitment level needed at this level is very large so some make it and contribute and others choose to do something else. No shame in that. One career ending injury. Three players with several years in program recruited by prior staff not moving up on depth chart etc. Very little turnover in my opinion.

Huge bummer about Walker. The Farrington departure has me both wondering what happened and also concerned as I believe we already lost both our starting DE's from last year and he did see some PT last season. Also, I expected to see several guys not with us next season, but 13 was way more than I was expecting to see at this point in time.

Including walk ons...is 13 a lot? What's a more "normal" number?

I'm wondering with the Juco's added to OT and the void left at DE now if Roussos could be moving back to the DL again.

I would think that was a given.

Really? Wasn't he a DT? We return both starters at DT and moving him back to D would leave us a vacant spot at both starting RT's if I recall correctly.

But he was not that great on the OL. I think that is why we went the JC route so heavily. Regardless, we are a long way away from solidifying positions yet!

I think Roussos was returning to DL with or without departures. DT is what he was meant to be playing. He was only on OL because of all the injuries we had to the OL last year.
