Losing Assistants
Even if Brandon stays it is likely that we won't be able to keep all of these assistants.
THe reason why is because Urban is losing his two top guys to HC opportunities in Utah/BYU and UNLV. Going with them will be many assistants so therefore Urban will need to replace them. He very well may go back to BG to pluck some guys up.

Practical?
OK lets see. He went to Utah and had his choice of Coaches. Now those coaches have taken opportunities at other Universities. He can not choose from all of the same coaches he had at Utah because they HAVE OTHER JOBS!!!!!! So even if he didnt choose a coach from BG to go with him, maybe the person he chose over that BG coach is now at BYU or UNLV as a DC or what not. Good logic saying it wasnt practical Flip? And Toledo Fan? Just because I am pessimistic?
To restate my point. URBAN MEYER DOES NOT HAVE THE SAME POOL OF COACHES TO THAT HE TOOK TO UTAH WITH HIM. THEY ARE NOT CHOICES BECAUSE THEY HAVE JOBS! SO HE COULD LIKELY TURN TO COACHES HE KNOWS BUT WHO HE DIDNT CHOOSE TO GO TO UTAH WITH HIM. MAYBE THEY WERE SECOND CHOICES AT UTAH. BUT THE FIRST CHOICES NOWWWWW HAVE OTHER JOBS!

When you are the coach at Florida, you can lure coaches from a bigger pool than you could when you coached at Utah. I am sure Urban has plenty of contacts. Assistnat coaches don't go from BG to Florida. My point is that while at Utah, you look at a certain level of coach to fill your assitant positions. When you are the coach at Florida, you move it all up a notch and there is another pool of talented coached that you can now pick from to come to Florida that would have never even condsidered going to Utah..

Your post makes no sense, Touchdown Rrockets (BTW there's no "e" in Germain). The coaches here in BG have no more interest in or ties to Urban Meyer than assistant coaches anywhere else in America.
I think Urban is going to hire Amstuttz to be his defensive coordinator and Tim Spence otbe his offensive coordinator

They coached with Urban Meyer? How do they not have ties or interest. Brandon could even go to florida as the OC and I would not be surprised. Stud as OL coach.
What if Stud and Brandon went to Florida with the idea that Brandon would most likely get a HC opportunity within a few years so Stud would move to OC. They both know the system better then anyone else in the country.
I am not a Toledo fan by any means.

Let me get this right. Brandon is going to give up a HC job to become an OC, so he can get job down the road as a HC. Wow, that is may be the dumbest thing I've heard today, but hey, the day's young. May be someone else will top it.Germainefitch1 wrote:They coached with Urban Meyer? How do they not have ties or interest. Brandon could even go to florida as the OC and I would not be surprised. Ask yourself this question..(ANd by the way I didnt say it would happen I said Iw ouldnt be surprised) If a Big job came up somewhere would Brandon have a better chance getting that job as OC from Florida or HC from BG? THat answer is obvious. OC from Florida is a more direct conduit to a High profile coaching Job than the BG head position.
The abrasive one has a point. By moving to OC at Florida Brandon would get a pretty good pay raise, and be closer to landing a high profile HC job as well.
VERY few guys make the leap from MAC level straight to a traditional powerhouse. It is a lot more common to go from OC at a major institution to HC at a major institution than it is to go from HC at a mid-major to HC at a major institution.

The real reason we might lose a coach or two to Florida, is that their "salary budget" is about three times BG's. i.e. The OC and DC will be in the $300,000 range and the position coaches will be in the $150,000 to $200,000 range. Maybe not exact, but you get the idea.
Also, the coach(es) that get head jobs off of Urbans staff, also have to hire OC and DC, which might lessen UM pool to pick from.
For those of you (Option) that think Studs is not a HOT commodity, better rethink your opinion.

If you read the whole article, it says Utah really didn't have any other candidates. Although Brandon and Amstutz were mentioned as possibilities. It would have looked funny for Brandon to again follow Urban, but who would turn down a quadrupled salary to coach a top 10 team? Only an idiot.factman wrote:more information on who is going where!!!!!!!
