Has there been any news about a hire of the new Dline coach?

Just wondering.

I've not heard anything yet. I assume there's already been one hired but it hasn't been announced yet. And given that we brought in some great D linemen, I wouldn't be surprised if we hired a good one.

Would they really make a hire and not announce it? That just seems weird.

It also seems weird for there to have been a vacancy at defensive line coach for I think about a month or so now without hiring a replacement yet. I'd be a bit concerned if we don't have a new defensive line coach lined up by now, unless one of the other coaches is taking on that duty also.

looks like we made a hire... kind of weird it was from within the conference.

As our offensive line and Matt Schilz all found out this fall, this guy knows how to coach a defensive line well. :( Our line was pushed around all day by Kent's D line and it was pretty hard to watch.

Good hire. He's the only college coach who has been a position coach for Roosevelt Nix, and he turned out pretty well for Kent last year. I hope he can do the same with our line!

Nice hire. Good to see the coach played NT and Dline in college. Nix had a great year last year at Kent St. With the size of Jones and the new recruit Maynard, the inside Dline should be fun to watch in the next few years to come. They both are similar in style to how Nix plays, but Maynard is a little taller and about 20# bigger.

I would think the existing Dline players and the new recruits on the Dline are happy with this hire. :D

+1. Kent's D line has been solid the last few years. He brings a wealth of MAC experience with him. Welcome to the Nest Coach McDaniel!!
