I know this isn't a football topic , but the BGSU rugby team needs the help of all Falcon sports fans. Despite our #1 national ranking the entire fall season, despite our #3 finish in the 2010 National championship - the "BGSU" brand isn't strong enough for NBC TV (yes - a TV company is calling the shots on who gets in - imagine that) to automatically include us in the 2011 national championship. Last year we beat Army, Indiana, Arizona State & Penn State in the tournament before losing to Utah in the final seconds on national TV. There are four slots left in the 2011 event. NBC TV by way of the Tournament organizer, Rugby Magazine, has created a voting poll. As of 10:45pm on Thursday, 2/17, BGSU is second in the voting. The voting is Chicago style, i.e. - vote early & often. We need your help. If everyone reading this will take five minutes and just vote as many times as they can it will be an immense help. Find work boring on Friday - vote some more. Got a Facebook page - tell your friends.

Do we have to "log in" on this site? I voted 25 times tonite, while NOT logging in (didn't see it at the time)...didn't change BG's 24% reading.

It would likely take a lot to change a percentage that's rounded off here. You can see to the right that the total votes for the month is in the 235,000 range. So a single vote or 25 isn't going to do much to change the tally.

On the other hand, BG is currently rolling up some major votes. If you hover over the bar graph on the left for each team, you can see their respective vote total. Each time back to the page, BG's number jumps by 80 or 90, while Delaware's goes up by 10 or so.

Would be great to get BGSU rugby on national TV again!
