Be afraid, be very afraid

We all know the gaudy numbers LeFors has posted with Louisville, right? Well, they weren't enough to give him Convict-USA Offensive Player of the Year honors.

He had to share the honor with Memphis RB DeAngelo Williams.

Add to that the absence of Matt Leninger and tell me you're not concerned that Memphis may run for 350 yards. :ugh:

I was looking at stat comparison as well, and I am terrified of their run game. Just looking at the yardage he puts up all season makes my stomache turn. :( It could be a long day for the D.

I see no problems for the defense. They have had a lot of time to prepare for this game and I am sure they will take their revenge from losing to TU out on the Tigers. If you are going to worry about the defense, worry about the passing attack. Our D-line will hold up, don't worry!!

Given that we have three weeks to prepare for what we know is a great running attack, if Beckman is as good as some claim him to be, he should be able to come up with kind of scheme to slow Williams down. I have my doubts though. I can already see the time of possesion stat: Memphis 48:02, BG 11:58. :ugh:

While I do think DeAngelo's gonna have a field day, I am absolutely scared to death of Omar Jacobs. Any decent quarterback is capable of lighting us up like a Christmas tree, and Jacobs sounds like a freak of nature....we have ZERO pass defense. That's what's gonna make this game so freaking entertaining, and I cannot wait.....I honestly believe it's all gonna come down to who has the last possession.

Someone else said it in another thread...whoever has the ball last will win this game. I would be very surprised if the combined score for the game was less than 65. Both D's are going to have a long day, but the offenses will be the big story.

The over/under line is at 72, I believe. But that's too low. We're probably looking at 50 points combined by halftime. Could easily be triple digits before the games over - 59-56 or something like that.

We were the only team in Conference USA to even give Louisville a scare this season...56-49....that's 105 points right there.

The GMAC Bowl will be very, VERY similar...

The peformance put on by the Tigers against Louisville scares me. That game was one of the most entertaining of the year. Louisville is an outstanding team and should have beaten Miami. Williams is a really good runner.

I think our offense can score with anybody but the defense will have to make some stops for us to win. This game could be a shootout !!

There is no doubt that UM/BG should be a great matchup. I look forward to seeing another BG game on national tv.

Go Falcons !!!!

What's the NCAA record for most points in a game between the combines teams? I think we could break it...

The way we're all hyping the offenses for this game you know it's going to wind up being a 14-10 game decided by an int. returned for a touchdown.

It's just God's way of screwing with us...

Flip:

No way. Revenge would be a monsoon, rendering both offenses useless. The game is 0-0 until there's 20 seconds left the fourth quarter; then the snap for a punt sails out of the end zone. Final score, 2-0.

I'm sure our masterful motivators will come up with something like "Well we just have to keep their offense off the field" . . . All major NCAA D-1 records are in jeopardy and that's not being pessimistic . . . that's being completely real about the situation.

I admit it. I have no idea what the heck you're trying to say. :P
