memphis paper (commercial appeal) reports 5200 sold through memphis ticket office. many are buying directly through ticketmaster or bowl due to university ticket priority policy, so there are more than that number sold so far.
looking forward to a great crowd and game

Tiger,
No one seems to know here how our tix are going...I only know, when I called, to be fair ,on one of the 1st days after they announced tix were on sale, that we'd only been at about 100. Since that time, even based on the guys(and gals) here on AZZ, I'd say the numbers have gone up significantly... but it's a lot longer haul for us than "y'uns" (Sorry for that). We're having to fly to New Orleans, rent a car and drive the 2+ hours to get to Mobile... direct flights from Cleve. to Mobile were VERY expensive, perhaps because of time of year..but also because of fewer available flights. Either way, BG should be well represented and we're looking forward to meeting some of the classiest fans we've had visit AZZ.

Hey AZZers, is there anyway to really get a handle on our ticket sales? Has either the Sentinel or Blade reported on them? Of course, I haven't seen anything posted on the Athletic Department's site.
Would be nice to get some information.
As I understand it, tickets will be mailed Dec. 13. I wonder if they'll release a statement then.

Even if you can't make the game, you should still purchase a ticket via the BG ticket office so they can donate it to a youth group in Mobile. A worthy cause and it supports our great University!! That's what I did.....

I have it on very good authority that our office has sold 1500.
But, I think everyone should take ffej's advice and buy tickets and donate them if you cannot make it down to Mobile. The Athletic Department will distribute them to the local Boys and Girls Clubs of Mobile.
So far only 30 tickets have been donated...

1500 tickets, man thats a little disturbing. With the likes of Memphis bring 8 to 9 thousand, I was at least hoping to sell 4000. Orange, do you think the orders will increase at all, or do you think they have leveled off?

Typically, we don't do much reporting on our ticket sales. I said on an earlier thread that I don't anticipate us sending very many people to Mobile, and most of the non-Azz (but avid Falcons Fans) I have talked to aren't making the trip. If we sent 6,000, it would be 40% of what we drew for some home games this year.

Well, I think we're hoping to break 2000 by the time all is said and done. You have to bear in mind, though, that for Memphis fans this is a driveable trip. Most people do not want to drive 14 hours one way for any football game, which is understandable. What we have going for us, though, is our alumni base in the south. We have a lot of alumni down there and we also have 7 or 8 player's from the area (namely Omar).
So, I think our numbers are a little decieving because a lot of our fans' ticket sales are probably going to be made locally in the south.

Well I hope we have a respectable showing. I just bought 4 tickets from the ticket office today. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask how sales were going. I was able to convince my wife to allow me to go. I also talked two of my brothers into making the trip along with a fellow AZZer from here in Lexington to make the trip. Can't wait to see everyone and meet some of these great Memphis fans.

I did, too.

I did. The guy on the other end didn't really know, then asked if I knew of more friends who wanted to go.
Smart fans will get their orders in by today. They plan to mail the tickets tommorrow if possible... and no later than Monday.
