I have to say, they are spot on! He left BG in the middle of the night for money, now he's doing the same thing to Utah. Why would it not surprise me if he left Flordia in two years?? He expects to get recurits with a history of lying?? I know he can turn programs around, and put up good numbers, but if I was looking at playing football for him now, I would have to wonder if he is going to leave in a couple. #$@#$% Urban, and !#%!$ the horse that brought him!!!!

You cannot argue with the results that he produces. He turned this program around and is an influential part in what it is right now. I was just as mad when he left for Utah as anyone on this board, but I would rather be associated with a coach of the year than losing to Buffalo and going 2-9 every year.

He won't leave Florida. He is at the top of the pay scale and he is now with an elite program. There isn't much left to offer that he doesn't already have. Great location, BCS conference, historical program, great recruiting potential...nothing is left. If he produces great results, Florida will make sure he gets plenty of bonuses. If he doesn't produce at Florida, who else will want him. I think Urban is there to stay, unless the Pros come knocking.

He's at one of the top jobs in college football and he makes $2million per year. Steve Mariucci coaches the dreadful Detroit Lions and makes about two and a half times that.
At his first Florida press conference Urban said he wouldn't look to go to the NFL, he like college ball.
I must conclude then that Urban wants to coach in the NFl where the real money is...

Exactly...he's got a great track record for telling the truth. I wish him the best, but I still hope that SC beats him next year! I will be laughing and enjoying him struggle in Columbia.

how is utah even suprised this happened? They did the same to us as Florida did to them. Utah is not some powerhouse in college football, neither we we, Urban turned us both around and moved on. Both programs owe him a low, despite the bad blood that may or maynot be there with some of the fans. If the Utah fans didnt see this comign when he left us, they were blind.

From what I heard last night on the award show even the players told Urban he had to make the move and wished him the best. I believe he left Utah in a better way than he did with BG with the "note and walk-out." It sounds as if he called a meeting and expained himself to the team and he was voted back to coach the Fiesta Bowl.
IMO the jump Urban made from Utah to Florida was a much bigger one than he made from mid-major to mid-major with BG and Utah. The Utah move from BG seemed more financially driven than goal oriented, rather than the move to Fla. where a National Title is within reach.

Florida fans should be righty terrified regarding any pronouncements of loyalty and non-interest in a "better" coaching position from Meyer.
Utah got a taste of their own medicine and almost saw their entire program crumble had their DC moved to BYU.
I'd prefer to see him continue to make news and move up the coaching ladder if only to hear more BG references on national news and radio programs.

My god is that utah fan board not very user friendly. Glad we have something more legible here.
