CFN All-MAC

Omar is Player of the Year. Omar, Mruczkowski, Newson and Jelani Jordan all on the first team. JELANI JORDAN? No disrespect to him, but there is not way he is a first team all-MAC DB.

They list the top-5 players at different positions. Not much argument other than Suisham is not listed for kickers. Hard to believe there are five kickers in the MAC better than him.
GO BG! Omar for '05 Heisman!

O4H,
I would think MOST of us who've watched all our games would agree with you on the Jordan bit.. He supposedly had a great many "passes defensed", which usually means to me that other teams throw at him a LOT. Plays too "soft" for my taste. As to Suisham, the kickers listed include 4 Punters and only 1 PK, the kid from E.M.U., who is pretty good. Be interested in knowing where Shaun finished in PK only category. Can't argue with most of the selections overall however, though Sanders had a solid season.. when you combine with the "other" All-MAC teams, our guys did pretty well in voting, except for the WR's, who still form the best UNIT in the league in my opinion. 8)

61 - I didn't realize the kickers category included punters. I would guess that Suisham is the second best place kicker behind EMU's place kicker.

I agree with your comments on Jordan. I think if you are only looking at a stat sheet, he looks decent. When a team throws at one guy 50 times a game, he is likely to break up a few of the passes! The Toledo 4th down TD play was a perfect example of the inability of Jelani Jordan as a defensive back.

I think the worst part is when Jelani does come up and take away all that cushion he usually gives, he then gets beat like a rented mule.

I agree...Mruczkowski is easily one of the top 3 OL in the MAC.

Oh well....nobody sees the same thing as everyone else.

DD,
Lance Moore? I'd have to agree with that. He is a SR, I believe, but I thought he was great this year. Great playmaker.

I think you guys pick on Jordan way too much. He was so much better this season than last. Yes you are going get more pass break ups when the ball is thrown your way more often. But if you are going play that side of the coin, you have to play the other side too. If you have more balls thrown your way you are also going to give up more plays no matter how good or bad you are. Now JJ is no way all mac but he is a lot better corner guy than a lot of other guys in the MAC. If he was that bad he wouldn't be playing.
